is that a surprise? we don't sign FAs unless they are bargain basement deals......FAs tend to make a team older. also we let go of a lot of FAs because they cost too much...so draft it is and that's why they are young.

The first Superbowl we won in the nineties we had one of the youngest, if not the youngest in the NFL.

This is a young team and one who is coming off a 12-5 season listening to some you would think this was a 5-12 team. Yes Cowboys need to go out and show they can win in big games and they will get that chance once again to show it.

This is what the doomers fail to recognize. We are replacing older, expensive talent and with young, cheap talent and still maintaining the quality of the roster if not improving it. If we get rid of veterans like Gregory, Collins, Cooper and can still win the NFC East and 11 or 12 games, then things are headed in the right direction. Young guys develop, old guys get worse.

I don't care about being young. I care about being good.

That sounds like a wa wa statement. We still are good. This team is better constructed this year then it was last year. And its in much better position with cap space the next 3 years and with young talent.

Dallas is always going to have one of the youngest rosters due to their financial philosophy. They don't sign players in the middle of their career. Instead, they re-sign their own guys to massive contracts, dump the ones they can't afford and backfill them by keeping their entire draft class every year.

Their philosophy hasnt been like this for long. Only the last 6 or 7 years. The problem is the system is flawed. You have to use every tool in order to improve your team.

These same doomers were crying after our 7-9 season in 2020 that we should blow the whole thing up. LOL

We actually go 12-5 and show the makings of a great young defense and they curl back up into a ball and cry again.

That 7-9 team won just as many playoff games as that 12-5 team last year.

The doomers are right while you and your buds fall for the fools gold every single year.

No, just making an all-encompassing comment in general is all. He'll get his chances at redemption in the months to come.

Clearly it all depends on the Oline because we have seen that if there arent huge holes for Zeke, he cant get the job done. Not even close.

We've been close to the top, how does that translate to success?

There's currently 25 top players who will still be under age 25 when the upcoming season begins.

Dallas appears to have a solid foundation on which to build their future. They have three players on the list. (Only Tampa Bay can say the same) The same players as the OP had mentioned. They will be paid what they deserve & set the stage for Dallas.

Lamb 23 Diggs 23 Parsons 22
cox, Gallimore, OSI, and others.

I don't think there's any question but what Zeke isn't what he once was, although, we're about to see what he has left. It's been said that the knee problems of last year was partly to blame. We're about to see if returning to good health helps his cause. In any case, I think this will be his last rodeo for him with the Cowboys. Our FO is averse to parting with him now, perhaps due to financial implications. Next year should be a banner year for drafting RBs. I expect a running back or two to be added to our roster in 2023.

This is very immaterial (team age) other than players being on their rookie contracts and and how it affects overall team salary structure (and thus the salary cap). To a lesser extent youth probably has less injuries as their bodies haven't been subjected to as much of this violent sport.

Seems back in 2016 or so there was a lot of chest puffing about the Cowboys being the 3rd youngest team in the League. Did that win us any participation trophies?

Overall I'm not impressed much with this team age stat. There's a lot to be admired about the treachery/experience of an older player if they can maintain their health and have no diminishing skills.
Frank Gore seemed to play forever.

Its Interesting how we look at our 'stars'. There's a possibility (only a possibility) that Lamb isn't a WR1 and is 'worth' a Gallup type contract. Parsons may have a Jaylon 'shooting star' career and Diggs may have peaked and is always an all or nothing liability.
We don't know.... what we need to do is put all three in a position of responsibility to see if any are elite and pay them accordingly (and not just in their contract year). There's a thought process that we shouldn't put the house ALL on 'our (lesser) guys' and should look to turnover via trades (or comp picks).
