Cowboys hope to keep Isaac Alarcon on final roster for regular season

the dollars that Jerry collects from a certain demographic.
What is the point trying to be made here? The Cowboys are the most popular team among Mexican fans of the NFL and have been long since long before Alcaron got here. This isn’t a new development.

Most Cowboys fans are probably not even aware of Alcaron’s existence on the team given that he has essentially been a camp body.

I'm curious to see what Dan Quinn sees in Isaac Alarcón. Dan Quinn knows his stuff and talent when he sees it. If he says he has had his eye on Alarcón and sees good potential to possibly become a good DT, I'm willing to give Coach Quinn the benefit of the doubt. Imagine if Isaac Alarcón actually is able to blossom into a good interior DT? 6'7", 320 pounds and a young with no wear-n-tear of a good DT sounds good for the Cowboys. Could become a good rotational piece if he somehow is able to suddenly learn and play DT.

Alarcon's jersey sales in Mexico are single-handedly keeping the franchise afloat.

How many years has this guy been around? This has to be close to 5 and he's not done anything.
You haven't been paying enough attention. He told us he wanted to try Dak's birthday cake during "Hard Knocks." You can't put a value on that.

Huzzah for Alárcon!
Múy Buenos Esfuerzo y jolly good times for giving your all.
Me hope is that you will be treated fairly, good or bad, and you keep striving.
Hasta la dia!

It's all about what the staff thinks is best for the team when it's time to retain him or not. He's on shaky ground with time running out, though, even if Mike McCarthy likes him. As always, it'll come down to a numbers game in the end.

I would absolutely LOVE for Alarcon to make the team, and really contribute. I want that reality. Nguyen was one of my favorite Cowboys ever back in the day. It was great *and* real. That dude was a baller.

The thing I don't like is fake stuff. Marketing and Public Relations BS. I could be wrong, and I hope I'm wrong, but there's never been anything about this that's felt real and genuine.

I don't see how he makes the 53. Feel good story but the NFL talent just isn't there.
Meritocracy is being supplanted by optics and “other things” in almost every facet of life these days…..and it will get worse before it gets better

I never thought it would make its way into professional sports, but here we are

I agree. I can’t think of many - if any - success stories when a guy is changing sides of the ball after this many years in the league.
You obviously forget Jameill Showers.
Jameill Showers never played a down in a regular season NFL game for the Cowboys - not on offense, defense, or special teams.
However...signing on as a UDFA in May 2015, he remained with the team through four years and four months....earning nearly $780,000 before being waived (injury settlement) in September 2019.
A success story in many people's book.

Issac Alarcon is listed as earning over $372,000 for 2021 and 2022 combined (no earnings listed for 2020) .

Both players' information I got from Overthecap.com.
