Until I hear news from a better source (basically anyone other than Fisher), then I'll start getting excited about Weddle.

You realize that Fish has been in this market for like 25 years or longer. He talks directly to Stephen Jones. That's always his source.

Well then it's amazing how often he is wrong with his prognostications.

I agree, he's wrong a lot. So is Broaddus. Most insiders get things wrong. Get bad info. But deals fall apart, not everything goes to plan. A GM or whoever can tell an insider they are interested and plan on signing someone but the deal falls apart. Doesn't make the insider wrong. They are just passing along what they hear.

Eric Weddle would be a great addition, but I would wonder what this would mean for Byron Jones and what it would mean if we drafted Jalen Ramsey.

I've always thought Weddle was the perfect fit for this secondary and filling the SS in FA makes perfect sense. The Cowboys have other positions with much greater need like RB, QB, CB, etc to use a high draft pick on a non-premium position like SS.

If we sign Weddle him and Byron Jones are the safeties and immediately one of the best tandems in the NFL. IF we draft Ramsey after that, I have to think its because the team thinks he would be a CB and play the position at a Pro Bowl level.

I don't think so either but what happened yesterday showed that pass rushers are always at a premium. He may not be the right kind of guy but he's the right kind of player and if he wanted to be here for the right amount of money it's okay with me.

As far as Weddle...please...please...please....do it!

I don't care that he's over 30. The safety position is a lot about being in the right place and taking the right angles. He's a huge upgrade.

That's funny cause I've RARELY seen anything Fish says come true. Maybe he should be talking "directly" to someone else.....

Reading Raiders are the favorites right now.

but he said he wanted to go to a team that was close to a Super Bowl...oh, that's right....money.............then chance at Super Bowl. Not like we are close, but it kills me when players say that.

still hope we go after him

The Raiders are the standard rumor every agent in the NFL uses to claim he has higher offers. We saw it with DeMarco and others, all press reports about FA moves at this point are posturing until the players actually signs.

i want Dillon and/or Joseph from WVU in the draft to learn and train for after weddle. Not just a pet cat situation both excellent players who play well together.

I dont like Ramsey as cb but it's really on the new db coach to develop him because he does look like Sherman.
