Why? Dude was beefing with players/coaches and his D finished last in INTs. Why are so accepting of mediocre????

He also put Byron Jones as a cornerback position and turned his career around. I think he knows how to train DBs.

So long he's not calling plays I'll be fine with that.

All coaches need a paycheck to support their families. If Mike Nolan, for whom Kris Richard played in San Francisco, wants to interview Richard, that's his business. There is a pre-Cowboys relationship there, so it is not beyond the imagination that Nolan would like to at least interview the guy.

And Richard has to find a job somewhere. If it turns out that is back in Dallas, and that is the choice of McCarthy and Nolan, so be it.

Same with McCarthy's supposed interest in retaining Kellen Moore. I expect that McCarthy will still call the plays, but if he wants a young innovative guy to bounce ideas off of, then that is his choice.

Why would anyone assume this is without Big Mike and Nolan involved? Do we think there are just qualified secondary coaches floating around out there.

It's nuts to blame Richard for the lack of picks anymore than it is to give him credit for the Legion of Boom. He was running Marinelli's D just as he was running Carroll's in SEA.

Have you asked if the players are the ones suggesting they consider bringing him back? A coaching staff isn't like a barrel of apples where one spoils the rest.

Believe me I was big on him, even being a HC. But no, heck no..

on what people post twitter and sm internet RUMORs.. its not the Jonses..MM isnt having anyone forced on him...
Was it a rumor Garrettt getting fired? Moore meeting with them? It’s not about forced on anyone...it’s going along with it my concern. That’s how this all started,Jerry keeping around people he shouldn’t. ONLY if at Mikes suggestion and not theirs will I sign off. No trust at all in this FO now....none. Call it paranoid, but even a phone call about some job in a capacity is reason for concern.

You cant teach ball hawk skills - and all of these DBs were already here before Richard's arrival.
And we failed to get him the one former Seahawk he likely was lobbying for in Earl Thomas.
And he was the one that transformed Byron Jones from a mediocre safety to a solid coverage CB.

But even with Jones, ..you just can't teach Ball hawk '.
That's why we have to place more of an emphasis of that in the next draft and the DBs we'll select. Especially the CBs !

of course he was beefing with pre-existing coaches such as LB coach Ben Bloom. He never really wanted Bloom in the first place
as he was already here and per whispers at the Star, Richard was denied his own LB coach.
and also take into it, that he was forced to work with a failing DL coach as well. Handcuffed.

a couple of matters I see the fault (his blitzing schemes and designs sucked) but he was also given a bum steer stuck between two incompetents.

Wait, we hate Richard now, too?

Mods, can we get a sticky so we know which coaches we’re idiots for not promoting and which ones we hate this week, please?,

Personally, I've always hated Richard as a coach.
He's an absolute fraud as a "Passing Coordinator ".

We need a complete overhaul on the defensive coaches (at least).

Are multiple sources the same as "they". As in they said, etc. Why would Richard remain in a lesser role?

I think Ruhle has that locked....they want him bad and it's home area for him.
They actually wanted a second interview with Big Mike but it was too late. Ruhle's contract is thought to be one of the top 5 buyouts in college ball and he can write his own ticket at Baylor and if he sticks it to Texas again this year, he could be in line for that contract that was being rumored to be dangled in front of Saban, 10 x 10M.

The top two names for HC searches in the NFL were Rivera and McCarthy. Rivera was already in talks with the Skins because they got a jump on everyone and McCarthy was on CLE, DAL and NYG's short list. Don't know about CAR. They've been mentioned with Rhule and that's the flushest owner in the NFL.

You know the one thing not being discussed about this and the timing was the role of the dealmaker, the agent in this. There are two tenured NFL HC's and one is off the board quickly and the other is in demand. This was a case of the prettiest girl needs a prom date, who's stepping up? I also think that's why they were willing to make coaching concessions to him.

Now, once he's theirs, all bets are off because Booger is Booger. They had a short courtship, there will be a short honeymoon and then Booger the bride's make up, falsies, teeth and butt padding are coming off and Big Mike may find himself in bed with Granny Clampett. We need a "what the **** have I done" pool for Big Mike.
