Guy had 117 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 2012... that's pretty phenomenal. He also had 3 FF's this season... 10 passes defensed over the last 2... and he'll be 28 years old in July (neither a pro nor a con). Oh and his intangibles are at a team captain level. He's a solid starting LB in my opinion.

What about last year?

Wouldn't be opposed too it, games that I saw he's really around the ball a lot, if anything I believe he got hurt and they really missed him, when he came back it helped them plenty, get him jerra

Seems like many are already onboard with signing this player. If the Cowboys do sign him and he gets hurt or sucks, I hope those aren't the same people who will bad-mouth Jerry Jones for signing him. I hear Mickey Spagnola in the background asking "if he is so good, why is he available?' Especially with the fact that the Broncos have a lot more cap room than the Cowboys.

I don't know much about the player. I can't recall watching him play. It sounds like it would be a nice pickup.

Yes, Byrd is available, so he must suck, huh? Thanks for your long post ended with "I don't know the player."

Woodyard is a leader as well, only Bronco other than Floyd Little who was a team captain his first six years. Could do a lot worse.

I like the idea of signing Woodyard and then drafting a Will late in the draft. Pick up a DT (or Hatcher if the price is right) and a WR with deep speed in FA also and you have added a lot to the team.

Byrd wants $9M/yr and was hurt last year(IIRC). That is why he is available. Does he suck? Probably not. Is he worth $9M/yr. No way.

LB Woodyard? So, why is Denver not interested in signing him even though they have the money? It is a good question. It needs to be asked.

Denver isn't in a fantastic cap situation anyways and wants to get younger on defense. He is a playmaker and is an athletic LB. A leader on their defense as well. I would like the signing as I live in Colorado, and have been forced to watch quite a few Denver games as I rooted against them.

Only thing is now that if we sign him, it isn't very likely we would draft Shazier. Which makes me sad.

Signing him would probably mean bye-bye to Durant or that they aren't going to draft a LB at all.

He'd a be a nice addition for the right price.

I would hope it wouldn't make them cross LB off their list in the war room. That would be idiotic.

Why didn't we draft that stud again? Oh yeah, we signed Wesley Woodyard to plug a hole that year.

I see aboout 10 denver games a year due to brother being a fan. Woodyard is fast. He was benched the second half of the year and not someone you should be stoked about. Slightly better then Durant

If you think Broaddus knows what he's talking about, Shazier isn't a player we have interest in.

I don't think he knows what he's talking about. The day we made several cuts to clean up the cap he tweeted that wouldn't happen until the eve of free agency.

He's a fraud. He wants you to think he has some kind of inside info. Any knowledgeable fan knows the team isn't keeping him abreast of their draft evaluations. Even Jerry Jones isn't that stupid.

Broaddus answers draft questions as if he's an expert. Then a few days ago admitted he's only seen about 60 players so far.

Whoa. Slow down, professor.

I doubt Carter is destined to pan out the way he was originally believed to. Woodyard (at the right price) could correct that mistake.

If the thought behind the signing is to create competition for Carter, then I hope if he is signed that he's relegated to backup duties. Carter panning out would be better for the Cowboys. He's got more upside.

But I say that knowing that Sean Lee will snap his spine at some point next year and Woodyard would still start some games as we shuffle the deck.

Exactly. Slightly better (more athletic) than Durant. And he'd allow the Carter to SAM switch, which I believe is the plan.

Nothing to go crazy for, but a solid addition that also provides a nice trickle down effect for depth (i.e., Holloman can remain quality depth).

Woodyard would be a hell of a signing. I'm honestly surprised that the Broncos are going to let him walk, he can do it all.

I would agree with that if Carter showed in TC that he's likely to work out at WLB. Unfortunately, as far as filling in for Sean Lee in the event he's injured again, Woodyard isn't the ideal candidate to fill that role very well. He was released from Denver because he was miscast at that MLB position. He's 6-0 and 233, not particularly well-suited there. On the plus side, his coverage is quite good.
