Why don't fans understand that there are 12-15 legitimate NFL quarterbacks in the world at any given time?

Who's the backup for Peyton Manning? Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger?

NOBODY HAS A GOOD BACKUP. PERIOD. That's why they're backups.

We have been a little spoiled with Romo; Since he has been here for awhile now, I think many, including myself , just take him for granted. He is a one of the best in the game right now. Yes, he hasn't got his team far into the playoffs, and he has thrown some ill-timed INTs...but Romo is one of the best.

While it will be exciting to see someone else at the position, I am not looking forward to those development years and then going through the process of hoping he develops and then he doesn't..... Next!

This is for the backup QB position people. Who do you expect to back up Tony Romo? Tom Brady?

I dunno. Someone who actually has some potential and NOT a 34 year-old guy who basically can't play anymore.

I don't understand all of the Weeden hate.

Can someone please tell me what he has done over the past year to make everyone think that he's the worst QB of all time? He wasn't very good with the Browns, but that was the Browns.

Has he really looked horrible for us in the limited action he had last season and preseason? I guess the Cardinals game wasn't too great, but for a backup, what more do you expect?

I do think we should go younger though if the opportunity comes along.

It's easy to make vague statements like that. What's tougher is actually naming someone available (and cheap) who would be a better backup than Schaub.

I am disappointed it looks like we won't get him. He's a much better option than Weeden and probably the best option I can think of available.

Until proven otherwise Vaughan is a 3rd string bubble guy. Weeden should be booted off the team, he's not a backup; he's not built to play in this league.

Schaub would be a great backup. Key word here, guys: backup. There isn't going to be a Romo on the open market, what you hope from with a backup is that they can bring you a win or two if your starter goes down for a short amount of time. That is all. I don't care about how Schaub looked in that black hole known as Oakland, everyone goes there to see careers die.

Schaub > Weeden, that's what we need to be looking at. Vaughn shouldn't even be considered our second string QB until after another TC and preseason.

LOL Micky and Bryan on Talkin Cowboys talking about how bad Schaub looked when they saw him in practice when the Cowboys/Raiders had joint practices in the preseason last year.

Smh we just love to struggle and look like fools.

Shaub, MO, Carr and up and coming joke Williams.

We are slowly but surely producing a roster full of clowns.

It will soon be Keith Davis, reeves, lance Frazier, ball, Ross, bradie James ect ect type of players filling out our roster once again.

That's pretty much my take.

I don't find myself thinking this very often, but you are completely wrong. Weeden sucks...but he's a better qb at this point than Matt Schaub. Dude is done.
