I took it as he rather have a shot each year instead of blowing it up if we don't win the SB this year. And he will be right.
The only scenario in which he is right is the one that results in at least one SB win.

Maybe this reality will encourage the trolls to follow another team.
I’ve always wondered why Trolls didn’t attack Jethro . He’s obviously been our constant core problem throughout this era .

I think why they haven’t is because of his early success with Jimmy. Fans can comeback he’s already won 3 Rings .

With Romo , Prescott, etc they can hold theyll
Never win one cause they haven’t . Notice the Trolls haven’t attacked McCarthy. Same reason I suspect . He’s won a ring.

Trolls use what Cowboy fans love most as their target . Winning a SB. But if the apathy over Jethro’s ways sinks in to everyone they won’t be as sensitive to a product or team thats goal isn’t to win a SB.

I'm not sure how this idiotic meme of the "entitled fan" who expects their team to compete for and win a SB once in a while came to be. As if it isn't EVERY fans' reason for being a fan. Not only that, but the type of people that actually think this is some sort of high brained gotcha needs a case study.
I suspect he’s referring to that era of fans in which we did expect to contend for a SB every year cause we went to 12 championship games in 17 years.

Trolls main focus is always attacking SB hopes. Jethro Jone$ comments kinda squash those intents to incite if winning a SB isn’t the top priority. Lol

The NFC is historically weak. It’s not debatable and has been for the last couple seasons.

Its SB or bust but Jerry doesn’t want to either acknowledge it nor say it out loud….we know better.
Three in last year's playoffs and all 3 with a win pretty well settles that one...

that’s my point, 2022 was a successful season in Jerry’s eyes and he’d like to continue that trend
Yep… Jethro can sell and hype the hell out of 12-5 in the playoffs. R U Kiddin Me. That’s easy money for him. Lol

Why would he want to break that up. Even after he frikin tells us some fans don’t get it,

No entitled is for the fans who feel just because they're the Cowboys they deserve a SB. I agree, I expect to compete every year. And that's exactly what we been doing since McCarthy got here, and is exactly what Jones means.

He’s squashing rhetoric that SB or Bust is a mandate for Prescott. Which the critics and trolls are intent on peddling.

Jethro has many times told us that winning SB’s isn’t the base objective . But some fans don’t get it . And if you take that out of the equation Trolls have nothing to attack but Jethro himself which they refuse to attack.

There are only 4-5 teams in the nfl who’d be disappointed in that 2022 season result, and the 2023 Cowboys are now probably one of them
Disappointed perhaps . But would it bring about the change these critics are crying out for?

If not then it kinda squashes such rhetoric. Hard to bash someone for not making a SB if that isn’t required. Lol

Critics will attack qbs like Dak and Josh Allen because they have had great rosters and high expectations but have both had bad performances in the playoffs and failed to elevate their teams.

They are fair game but I can’t blame their GMs for both of their bad performances.

Jerry has enough things he’s done himself to be critiqued on.

If fans from our glory eras feel they are entitled or deserve a SB, then they haven’t been paying attention the last 30 years.

This is no longer the championship caliber franchise we grew up with. Only in name.

And yes, competing or remaining “ interesting and relative” which are Jethro’s words is exactly what Jone$ means. But it’s not a mandate or expectation to need to win a SB or heads roll or start over.

The difference between Jerry and Jimmy

Jethro - This isn't a superbowl or bust year.

Jimmy - In 1993, Johnson delivered another memorable phrase that has stood the test of time. Before the two met for a second consecutive NFC Championship, Johnson called a local sports radio show and made an unprecedented declaration. "We will win the ballgame,'' Johnson stated. "You can put that in three-inch high headlines.

Even though the Dallas Cowboys are expected to be one of the NFL's best teams this season and made several big additions in an attempt to get over the hump in the playoffs, Jerry Jones doesn't view 2023 as must-win year for his franchise.

In an interview that will air in full on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown (h/t ESPN's Todd Archer), Jones downplayed the idea that it's imperative for this roster to win a Super Bowl:

"How we are as a team as we evolve through this season, all of that we'll weigh. We could very easily have a team that doesn't hold the trophy up but be dramatically better than one that if you cleaned house. So we'll let that set of facts, [let] that play during this '23 year be the influencing things when we get to '24. You ask me, 'Is winning the Super Bowl imperative without blowing this team up?' And I say, no, it is not."

Only 1 Team can win the Super Bowl! Does that mean ALL other 31 teams failed?

Cowboy Fans are so entitled!!

Jerry Jones is just telling it like it is.. minions can't relate to a Rock Star

The only right answer would be:

"Of course it is you dimwit, that's why we play the sport and I got into buying the Cowboys in the first place. I wanna win that trophy every year. Unfortunately we couldn't make it happen for a very long time now and I'm really sorry for our fans for that. But trust me, everyone in the organization bleeds and dies for the trophy every single year. It is the only constant in this circus."

It should have been an SB or bust attitude since 2021.
