That's the guy I'm going for. Missed last season but hit 20/22 in 2021, both misses coming from 50+, and was 22/23 on XP's. He also hit a 57 yarder in training camp.

I believe this is a vastly underrated issue. This is a playoff team. Kicking is huge. There will be a tight game to determine playoff seeding, home field, and ultimately a win or loss in the playoffs. It’s a virtual guarantee. Why is this FO being so stupid here? It’s like they just can’t get it to 100pct. So many good things this off-season yet a missed K will spoil everything.

A few guys were released that have talent and were picked up quickly. We should’ve went after Michael Badgley, Brandon McManus or Riley Patterson.

This team always has one glaring joke they don’t fix, it cost you and then they prioritize it.

Receivers when it was Hurns, Thompson etc., OL, Safety, Corner, defensive tackle etc

Doesn't sound promising. NFL extra points are from 33 yards. It has gotten to where I would settle for whichever un-signed pedigreed vet has the most impressive extra point history while mostly conceding that the plus 50 yard range fgs are no longer automatic given his age.

Most of the people here wanted Zuerlein gone and they also complained when they signed Maher last year.

I mean, if he's struggling with the Pacific wind, what's he going to be like in the swirling winds of MetLife Stadium? Or the field of Lincoln Financial Field? I think we need to bring in the kicker from the Philadelphia Stars USFL side. Or, perhaps a kicker from Japan that I've mentioned about. Or, just someone who can make a kick. Anyone from any country that can make consistent kicks would be great.

Yes, the conditions are not good at camp. It is a swirling wind there. The Cowboys stadium is a good one to kick at.

I get it. Outdoor conditions can really play havoc with a kicker's performance.

But missing a 33 yarder because you can't figure out the conditions and line it up for a successful kick? That seems incredulous to me.

What were the kickers doing when all the other units were doing unit drills? Posting on TikTok?

Prior to the live practices were they were competing against each other they should have been kicking in the saem conditions as what the rest of their team mates were playing.

Overcoming localized conditions is a very key trait a quality kicker should have. You don't always get to kick in an enclosed stadium. At times you may end up in a northern climate outdoor stadium and you might have to make the kick that helps propel your team into the next round.

e.g. The Bears, Packers, Beagles and Commandments. You may have to kick outdoors in tough conditions late in the season to buy a ticket to the tournament.
