Brett Maher cost us game. Disastrous in post season. Now these. Clowns.

They are going to cost us a game. Perhaps post season when games are close.

Can't count on these guys.

Maher cost us a game? Which?

As Lamb said, Maher bailed the team out repeatedly last year.

:laugh:the Cowboys had an elite kicker (who is tearing it up in Denver right now), and canned him over one bad game. Now the season is almost upon us and random guys making youtube videos are better than the 2 clowns the Jones are trying to get by with. There's never going to be a time when Jones idiocy doesn't rear its ugly head and damage any opportunity for success.

San Francisco. Big Mac had to second guess routine FG and XP calls the entire game and in the most important game of the season, adapt the team's playbook to a kicker with a head case.

Don't see how we can go into the season with the 2 kickers currently in camp.

do you trust him? do you want to go to post season being up by 2, 1 minute to go and have him kick a 40 yard field goal?

He went 1-6 in XP in post season.

 he cost us a game in which he made 2 crucial 2nd half FGs in a close game....right. Not bozo Dak throwing to ghosts, or our inability to cover Kittle.

His only really off game of the year. Our roster is loaded with guys who had numerous off weeks, Jones didn't rush to dump them. A guy who can make a 50 yarder to beat the Bengals at the final gun to avoid and 0-2 start can handle the pressure. Jones wanted to save a few bucks.

Kickers are a different breed, almost everyone but Justin Tucker has bad games. Before the TB game, the only kick Maher had ever missed in the playoffs was a 58 yarder.

I'm setting the over/under of how many games this costs us in the regular season before Jerry is forced to sign a competent kicker at 2.

Maybe he was preoccupied with the snap. Only excuse other than injury to body.

well, whatever mojo he had was lost. when you go 1-6 in XP in most important games of the year, its quite concerning. in 2019 he was 20-30 in field goals. in 2018, 29 of 36.
he is struggling mentally. he is unpredictable. that's the scary part. he can make a 61 yarder one week. then miss 4 XP another game.

I think it was that his routine was disrupted bc of the spotting rule change he had been doing using blades of the marked turf.

If he had a whole offseason to adjust I bet that he would easily put that behind him and I bet we will see exactly yhat on his new team unfortunately

I understand the hesitancy with Gould and his demands but at this point just make the move.

I've never defended him, but since you insist.... he had 1 bad game. Dak lead the league in INT's in only 12 games. They both contributed to the playoff loss. Jerry was quick to give up on one of them but not the other.

All I will say is - - - - - whatever. It's not my money going to those guys.
I have never defended him, but I have been arguing why he is not bad and now I will just defend him straight up (no disguising it any more).

and again, Maher has nothing to do with Dak. each a separate issue.

I wasn't happy with maher, specially with his inconsistent performance year to year. I was concerned. but I am not happy about kicking now neither. I don't think Jerry addressed it and my concern is if its going to cost us games. he has taken the same approach he took to WR last year, "Brown would do" and he didn't. now he reacted. is it going to be too late. I can imagine if we are in the superbowl. 2 minute to go. down 1 and getting ready to kick a field goal from the 35. what would we be all thinking....there goes the season? and then subsequently Jerry reacting by signing the most expensive kicker in the league. kicking was 30% of our points last year. we have to be solid in that dept. I don't expect perfection, but right now its nervous time.

He kicked both FGs he tried. He did miss an extra point but we didn't lose by one. It was the offense that cost us that game.
