Get used to it Cowboys fans. If we are indeed building something we hope becomes a stable winner.... These first rounds are going to become more and more boring.

I'll take it for excitement in December and Beyond.

Don't know what you're talking about, I was pumped with the Martin pick last year. Then again, I've been one of those guys begging for offensive and defensive linemen for years.

This pick will be supported by most of the analysts.

All I'll say in defense of the pick is he is not a workout warrior. That's a guy who didn't really stand out on the field, then he blows up during workouts. Jones was more of a case of people paying more attention to the UConn product after the big combine performance.

I said before the draft that if we must take one at 27, this is the guy for me. So I'm trying to accept it that way but it still feels like a kiss on the lips from your Grandmother.

Unless we're moving him to FS. Stat.

The Byron Jones consensus around here feels like "thanks for the Xbox its very nice, but I think a PS4 is the better console here"

A fitting punishment for the sports media is to hire them as GMs and HCs.

Then you would see fiascos that completely eclipse Chip-wants-Mariota.

NFL draft winners, losers: Jets grab a steal, Cowboys whiff

LOSERS

Players with character questions: The same couldn't be said for Nebraska DE Randy Gregory, LSU OL La'el Collins and Oklahoma WR Dorial Green Beckham, all players with obvious first-round ability but each saddled with red flags of the first order.

Chip Kelly: Rumors of his pursuit of Mariota hit overdrive Thursday evening with the Eagles coach offering everything he had plus the Liberty Bell and the Rocky statue. No dice.

Tight ends: The next one picked will be the first one of 2015.

Cowboys: CB Byron Jones may become a fine player. He won't sack any quarterbacks, nor will he run for 100-plus yards on a weekly basis.

Ms. Armour is from Chicago and has covered Chicago for USAtoday and the AP.

I could care less what her off the cuff let's get hits article says.

I think that if you say something like "Dallas whiffed" then you need to pony up and say who you would have taken instead. Review in a few years and say "I was right" or "I was wrong".

Or his fingers. Just saying. .. cb tackle volume means someone caught the ball or ran the ball that got through to the secondary.

..............and the CB stepped up and stuck his nose in there (shockingly missing from your drivel).

Drafts not over

I know your point here but on the other hand Dallas doesn't draft well mid to late either. Great in top 3 and UDFAs but not in the 4-7th so much. Contributing role players, but no starters. Scan/Free are the exceptions. I would really love if it McClay turns this aspect around. Some folks are okay if the UDFA gems keep popping up, but why not supplement this success with some late round starters or even gem stars similar to Sherman and Chancellor, type of contributors, etc I know that is easier said than done but we don't generally fetch starters out of this range either.

Well I'm not hating this pick, but I swear we're going to regret letting the Pats land Brown. I really think we could've traded down and still got him. But I like the guy.
