Video: Cowboys La'el Collins and Jaylon Smith make a big impact at OTA

LG should be interesting. Not the depth we're used to for sure. At least I don't think so. Cooper is intriguing.

I think the media is downplaying anything with jaylon to not let out how he looks and his knee progress. Why disclose it now ? Let teams keep guessing and he'll show up game one with an impact well deserved...hopefully
very sorry to hear the passing of your pop..my mom passed a few months ago

But I was told that Jaylon Smith was doing much less than what we was being written by many. That his work was mostly on the side and did very little.

So which was it?????????

It was guys running around in shorts.

Yeah that let me know alot more about him, but alot of players are actually in that frat so gives him the opportunity to get closer to some players.
He's very active in his fraternity, although this might be the first time I've seen him wearing gear. He mostly wears purple and burnt orange (He's a UT alum). He's always linking up with someone during his travels. His son is in the same fraternity.

Just my random observations from FB and twitter.

That's not how fraternity's work lol. At least not black fraternity's.

We have a policy that if you list your fraternity/sorority on your resume, we immediately throw it in the trash. We don't care who got drunk with or what letters you wore to meet freshman girls at mixers.

College is critically important (we require an MBA for most positions), but after you've worked for a couple of years, I really don't care about the details of your college experience anymore. I care about what you know NOW that's useful, and how hard you will work. Young graduates so overrate their degrees these days, and they come in expecting to be fawned over because they graduated college. Whoopty-freaking-do.

The exception would be if you graduated Summa Cum Laude, or if you interned over sees or something. That is very impressive to us, especially if you took on a leadership role.

These days, 90 percent of degrees are completely useless. Schools are inventing degrees. I had an applicant just a couple of months ago that graduated with a degree in Egyptology. Apologies if that was one of you, lol.

His real name is Clarence. And Clarence lives at home with both parents, and Clarence parents have a real good marriage.
And he turned out pretty good, didn't he? Surprise, surprise.

That seems like a dumb policy and an extremely arbitrary way of selecting candidates. I suggest you google "professional fraternities" and you might understand why some folks are listing them.

actually it sounds very pragmatic. If you think that your fraternity is important in the real world that suggests possible delusion syndrome and trouble ahead.

Suppose La'el is completely legit.

On the right side of the line you have Frederick, Martin, and Collins. Zeke Elliot will have been through two training camps woth those guys. He will know their tendencies, their speed, and they will know what to expect from him.

This running game is going to be a devastating machine.

I haven't even mentioned their best offensive lineman, Tyron Smith, on the other side.

That one guy was right, this is an absolute embarrassment of riches. When you throw in a top five WR, a Pro Bowl quarterback entering his second season and a plethora of other options, I don't see how opponent defensive coordinators can sleep at night.

Everyone is talking about our tough schedule. However the Dallas Cowboys are the toughest team their tough opponents will face all season long.

I think we might be talking about different kinds of fraternities....

Listing your drinking frat, you are correct.

Listing your engineering fraternity to demonstrate a lifelong interest in the field? You are wrong. And to punish someone for thinking that indicating a life long interest in the field would be meaningful to an employer is dumb.

If I'm hiring a business school graduate and I see Delta Sigma Pi, I know that this person has been interested in joining the field for at least 6 years and is has a decent chance of integrating well into the business environment. Even if that's not true, there is literally no reason to hold that against them.
