Cowboys letting Moore test the market

I'm not losing sleep over this. Patmon showed flashes- we'll keep Carr, sign a lower level FA, draft a CB in round 4, 5, or 7.

I think CB is ridiculously overrated these days. Its all about the pass rush- which admittedly needs two big pieces.

He was abused in the Packers game, bad. We aren't losing a all pro or something. Do knows he might still come back, just seeing what his offers are first

He wasnt the only guy abuse that game. We will have to replace his productivity with hardly any money. I like him, for what we paid him he was very solid for us.

He was ranked as high as 20 for CBs last year. For 1.5m to keep his rights seems like a no-brainer.

Yeah, so it seems we have no brains on this decision.

Moore came in and was markedly better than epic disappointment Morris Claiborne. The team actually benefitted from that injury. And he was solid and did his job the rest of the season. He did struggle in the Green Bay game, but I don't see that as a reason to let him go, especially if you're actually counting on anything from Claiborne.

He may or may not come back but I guess they have a plan to replace him if he doesn't. Surely they're not counting on Morris to
help this year cause I think he's done.

I'm pretty sure the Cowboys just don't like this guy that much nor do other teams around the league.

On a good secondary, Moore would be the 4th corner. $2 mil a year for a guy that should be getting more like the vet minimum is a waste of a mil that can be used elsewhere.

The odds are good that Moore will be back with the Cowboys.

Cowboys have never respected Moore. I think he is a pretty good corner, but they have released him, non tendered him and waited till Claiborne got hurt to move him into the lineup.

Moore wasn't tendered or signed last year either. They signed him later on. He is ok with surrounding players, but when he seen more playing time, he shown why is will not be a starter.
He is a decent player but also replaceable. I do like him, but won't be hurt if he signs elsewhere. The CB position needs to be churned anyway.

Scandrick, Carr [if takes a reduced pay] and Patmon, who will show improvement, and wil over for Moore. And Claiborne, yes Claiborne. Seems groups of fans need to have a player to hate, and don't or won't understand things. Mo can be a decent role player and 3rd or 4th CB over any mid level CB, or any draft pick in the later rounds.

And for those who claim the defense got better after his injury are just wrong IMO. You can't justify one way or another, as the D got better just because that is the way nature does it. A new defense / player mix will naturally get better as the year moves along. Then you have the DB / pass rush scenario, get a pass rush, secondary improves, including Mo.

They do need to draft a few DB's if no FA's are brought in. Need that competition. Or id Carr is not here, or Mo doesn't recover as fast.

I thought he was a decent 3rd/4th Corner. But I can understand looking for an upgrade in talent at corner though.

Saw this and thought 4 possible things:

1. They think they can sign him to a contract with a smaller cap hit than the tender.
2. They love the CB depth in this draft.
3. They want to give Claiborne every opportunity to prove/redeem himself.
4. They just aren't high on Moore.

As long as we don't draft another BW Webb.

Tendering him means they have to pay him more than he is worth, which is little. They don't allow you to tender a minimum contract. They wouldn't mind having the kid back as #4 or #5, but Moore is not a starter, and rather than paying him decent money, if he signs elsewhere, his replacement can be drafted or signed easily in free agency as an upgrade.

To me, it also shows they feel good about their talks with Carr and that they see a real possibility of the draft playing out in such a way that the BPA will be a CB in round 1.

It would not have cost much to keep him; I think this is a case where the boys are being a little short sighted. Yes he was abused in the GB game but show me a CB that did not get abused at one time or another. He is good insurance and with as bad a pass rush as we still currently have we need all the decent CBs we can get. And as Mo has shown drafting one is certainly not a sure thing.

not surprised by the moore decision, VERY surprised by tendering the punter? Dunbar I like, but if there is nothing in return if he signs elsewhere, then why tender at all? just so you don't have to think about what to pay them? color me confused by these moves
