Clayborn likely would be the Mincey replacement. I would not think he'd be the last upgrade we'd make to the DE spots, but it could put us in a position where Dallas feels comfortable waiting until the draft to address it.

Clayborn's a guy you might sign in the 2nd wave of FA when you're looking for cheap stopgaps. Why he would be the initial target at the start is beyond me.

If he gets paid a reasonable contract that would wind up being about what they would pay him two weeks from now...who cares other than to complain about it.

We already have a pretty good idea that they are not going to go big in FA...so if they get him cheap now as opposed to later...meh.

Maybe because other teams are concentrating on the bigger fish, which means the demand for him would not be high right now?

I don't necessarily feel it's about "waves" but rather price hunting. While teams are going back and forth fighting monetarily for Mario, we might can wrap up Clayborn because other teams aren't fighting to get him.

Can't believe the amount of people already whining about this. Were you guys really expecting Williams to be signed?

Maybe there is only one team showing him interest.

We just drafted gregory round 2. Why do we need a big money free agent? Just get a guy that has rush ability who can play the run and have gregory come in on 3rd down.

When was the last time a FA Washington signed from Dallas panned out for them?

One would think they would just keep from doing it in the future.

now if only we can keep from signing theirs.

imma gonna go ahead and let you work on that one. gregory at this point would need to come in on the 3rd down of the 5th week. if we're lucky.

Because we have to replace Mincey and his 0 sacks

Ok? I already know about the suspension. Does that mean we need to draft Bosa? We need to just pay Hardy

Giants are reported interested as well

If he has already agreed which has been inferred then he likely didn't get much interest so he's going with the most interested party that gives him what he wants. (Trying to explain why they are signing him now and not in the 2nd wave)

Makes too much sense.

Hardy is a bargain plus he can play WDE while Gregory is out but can also slide to DT in the Nickel.

Bosa will cost 4/25m. That could almost get Hardy signed and still draft Goff.

What's it going to be then, eh?

In a word, yes.

Some people also believe that we are seriously considering Pierre-Paul, Janoris Jenkins, Lamar Miller, etc.

It will be a huge mistake if we rely on Gregory. When he misses the 10 games, then follows that up with being suspended for a year, we are going to be wishing we signed Williams.
