My belief is that we will sign players like this at defensive end (Clayborn) and cornerback (Claiborne) so that we go into the draft being able to draft either Bosa or Ramsey with the No. 4 pick but not forced to draft either by a "need."

If we sign a bona fide player in FA at end or defensive back, then I think that eliminates that position from consideration at No. 4 ... although since Ramsey has position versatility, he might still be a target even if we sign a star CB.

So essentially that means that these are the caliber FAs we can expect at those positions ... and I'm not sure any spot other than backup QB will be filled with a high-profile FA.

He's a rotational guy, which we could use.

It's going to be interesting to see if we try to address the pass rush in free agency. If we don't, I think that screams Bosa at 4 or a trade down for Spence.

That is true. I'd be excited about his addition and think they need to do something substantial to address the pass rush.

But he has also reached the age where the drop off comes fast and hard. He wants big money and there's a big enough market that he's likely to get it. The likelihood that he lives up to this next contract is minimal IMO.

near as i can figure, i simply said he can't come in on 3rd down if he's suspended, i just said it in a different way. ie, he can come in on 3rd down, in the 5th game.

someone else said he was likely to be suspended for 10 or more games and wonderboy started harping to ME about him only being banned for 4 games, and when i told him that's what i more or less said - and that I NEVER SAID A DAMN THING about additional suspensions, i had no idea why he was telling me to get off his *** about a 12 game suspension OF WHICH i never brought up.

at this point bp is pretty confused by my thinking right now but he's dealing with me on 2 different sites and that's simply not fair to him. and bringing him in at random times will also help the confusion here so my work is done now.

ie - i only said 4 game suspension. wonderbrainless made up the rest to get mad at.
