Yeah but the offense was bottom 5 in the league when Dak was out. If he was such a great OC would that have been the case?

Yes it would. Sean McVay has been considered one of the best yet Rams sit at 31st ranked offense. Hell even in the 2020 season and a ton of injury including QB Cowboys were 16th in offense.

The Rams lost a lot more than just their QB though. Their LT retired, their WR1 got hurt AND their QB1 got hurt AND their RB1 had a tiff with the coaching staff or the front office? And those are only the losses we heard about. I'm sure there have been other guys who have gone down without generating any headlines. But the Rams failure does underscore how important it is to actually have good players no matter how smart you think a coach is. If his players suck then generally his team is going to suck too.

Difference between this year and last is in ‘21 the offense was limping down the stretch and the tens didn’t look right on that side of the ball. This year they’ve been on a tear in December.

Let’s hope that makes the difference!

The Romo haters said stats were for losers

Well what are many of those same posters doing but boating about stats

Stats and $8 gets you a cup of coffee

Show a ring and then I am impressed; we have been down this road many times about stats for this team and the season always ends with a loss

The fact that we won 4 of those games certainly helps the case. Plus everyone including CeeDee was figuring out how to have him grow into a #1 WR threat. Dak is more than good enough to win the super bowl, but it's not like he has been putting up MVP numbers since he came back. I think the people who think we are better with Rush are crazy, but I really do think Moore is creating good situations for players. I'd like to see fewer (or no) slow developing WR end-around plays -- at least hand the ball off close the LOS like McVay runs them. But otherwise the play calling is pretty good, and if it wasn't we couldn't be in the top 3 of scoring two years in a row.

People want Payton to be head coach, but they forget that when he was with the Giants he had his play calling duties taken away midseason by Fassel. Moore is doing well...

As much as I think that Kellen Moore's situational play calling is highly problematic at times, it is very difficult to argue with the results. Everyone on this offense deserves some props.
Especially if we take the boards word for how Dak is a 10-15 QB at best, CD isn't a true #1 and we have no #2, the OL is weak at C and LG, Zeke is slow and can't do anything, and Shultz is a JAG.

I will believe Kellen Moore has learned his lesson about play calling when two things happen:

1) We stop calling the delay handoff from shotgun that doesn't block the backside end.
2) We stop breaking the huddle in 5-wide empty backfield the instant we get into the red zone at least half the time.

Until I see those two changes I am going to continue to believe he is bailed out by great players over his horribly flawed scheme.

Oh there is a third item: I need to see us attack a known defensive weakness from the opening kick instead of starting every game "feeling the defense out." Teams don't take three quarters to find Kelvin Joseph and Nahshon Wright.. why do we need half the game to be gone before we figure out which of their corners stink?

Ill be convinced that Moore has learned his lesson when Zeke gets dumped after this season.

Then the next draft needs to be defensive-heavy, but if there's a stud OL there I'd take him.

I wouldn’t go that far. we’re also going to need pieces for the offense with Pollard a free agent. We may move on from Zeke. We definitely have to look at WR. The OL needs to be looked at as well.

Honestly, how dumb does someone sound when they nit pick about selective play calling when the guy has orchestrated the #1 offense in the NFL the last 2 years. 3 years with Dak under center.

Thats almost as dumb as some fans continuing to claim that Zeke is a better back than Pollard.
