Cowboys looking at ILB / CB in the 1st round

No way Bulaga falls to us.

No way.

Whoever suggested that is an idiot.

Agreed. It seems like Broaddus hasn't done his homework with the 1st round just yet. Bulaga is going top 15, you can book it. I have a feeling these players will be available when Dallas picks:

Kyle Wilson
Maurkice Pouncey
Sean Weatherspoon
Jared Odrick

Who would you guys pick if these 4 were the highest rated on Dallas' board?

I'd be tempted to take Wilson but Pouncey seems like the surest thing.

not sure if anybody saw this, and i dont know how it'll affect his stock but.....

4:00 PM): Tide LB discloses non-football illness… Star Alabama MLB Rolando McClain stunned the pro scouting fraternity when he disclosed after he became ill during the Tide’s pro day today that he has had Crohn's Disease, an inflammatory intestinal condition, since his freshman year in high school. McClain reportedly treats the condition with medication and obviously has been able to play with it a very high level to date, however, its certain to be a major red flag for pro teams heading into the 2010 draft at which McClain had been rated as a top 10-15 prospect. McClain also indicated that he has been dealing with a hamstring issue since October, but still ran well enough at today's on-campus workout, posting unofficial 40 times of 4.71 and 4.74

per GBN

Several years ago I would have put a bigger medical red flag up as Crohn's is incurable and could lead to lots of nasty abdominal complications. The disease now is under much better control with advances in medicine over the last decade and it would be good to see his files and what kind of medication regimen he is on.

So a player having chronic diarrhea is a "stunning" development that will raise "major red flags"?

Gotta love the offseason.

It is more than that IR - it causes severe inflammation potential involving all layers of the intestinal tract. This disease can cause major morbidity.

I don't need to take a look at it to know it's just BSPN talking out of their ***. They're saying we're looking at ILB and CB because they have to cover all 32 teams and didn't bother to analyze us in depth.

This guy has no clue.

Let's just leave it at that.

I would have no problem w/ us taking a CB in the 1st if it were good value or they really liked a guy. You need to be really deep in this league at CB.

I'd also prefer an OL if he is a BPA or very close to the BPA at our draft position. OT, G and C are all really needs in the near future with the age of our starters and only one proven backup (Free), one rookie who missed the whole year (Brewster), one old rookie on the PS (Bright) and pretty much nothing else.

I would agree that S, CB and ILB would all be reasonable selections if that is the BPA.

No chance Kyle Wilson is there.

He could probably play safety in a pinch as physical as he is.

I think Witherspoon has the highest ceiling, I dont want a NT in Odrick, and Pouncey is the surest IMO too.

I think the CB notion is a Smoke Screen, but the ILB would be a legit concern if I were GM and looking beyond OL.

What recovery?

Whoops! You're right, DC. Looks like he was on and off last season due to several injuries and just didn't get much playing time as a result. For some reason I was thinking he had a more serious injury, but looks like he just had enough to slow his progress his rookie year. Thanks for catching that. :)

Weatherspoon, Wilson or trade down.

He's not as physical as his numbers would lead one to believe, in my opinion but if Ball can play safety, then sure, Wilson can too.

Depends on who that CB may be sitting at 27, should one of the top CB in the draft slide a bit then I think it is very possiable. Main thing get top notch talent out of this draft

He is rising.

I just pulled up 12 Mock drafts to see where he was this Morning. He would not have been available to us in 5 of the 12....so it would be about 50-50 with him rising. The ones that do have him going before seem to like him with the Eagles. Some had us passingon him and Vikes taking him.

I'd pounce on Pouncey - in a heartbeat!

I like Pouncey but in the 1st round? No. If Max Unger can go late 2nd than its hard for me to take Pouncey in the 1st.

I like Pouncey's versality too. Unger went mid 2nd(49th), but was great value there, so I'm afraid Pouncey will go earlier. Maybe in the 30-37 range?

I loved Unger last season and still feel it was a tremendous blunder by the team in not getting him, but Pouncey is far and away a better center and he could also play LG until the team moved on from Gurode.

Getting cute and waiting for a player to fall into their laps cost the team in getting Unger last year, I'm in no hurry to make a mistake again this year.

Pouncey will definitely not be there in the 2nd round when we pick unless we trade down from 27 to a high 2.

Side note, Anthony Davis pissed off a ton of scouts by not performing at his pro day. His stock is plummetting.
