TO has a ring ?

Damn, I must have missed that.

He isnt married.
He isnt a mason.
He isnt a SB Champion.
Guess its that NFC Champion ring that he earned while cheerleading, jumping up and down on the bench.

He's been to a superbowl, which is closer than we've gotten in the last decade.

This team without T.O. is an average team that will fight for a wild card spot.

This team with T.O. is the favorites in the NFC.

If the Eagles keep swinging and missing in free agency... I won't be too surprised if they pay TO his bonus and try to move him in a trade before the year starts. They have to use their cap for something.

You seem a little frustrated about the whole thing by your post.

Understandably.

But I cant imagine that the Eagles would be willing to pay TO just for a trade. Especially for what would equate for a future trade with no immediate return on investment.

I can't see Andy Reid doing that to anyone. Not even Terrible Owens.

It would certainly be a weird move on the surface. But if they keep trying to spend their money, and can't, then they might as well spend it on TO and try to get something in return. He'll be more attractive trade bait if teams don't have to deal with his roster bonus.

Then again, maybe my frustration is just getting to my head. I'll feel better if we sign Howard, pass rush was our #1 need this offseason.

Yes, I loved when Roy horse collared him, but that was when he was an Eagle. I can easily forget about everything he's done if he brings us a Superbowl, because that is the ultimate goal.

You can have all the blind pride you want, you can "Defend the star" all you want, but at the end of the day it's about getting that ring, and Owens can bring that.

It has nothing to do with "blind pride". In fact, I don't even know what that has to do with this discussion.

In your mind you can balance rooting for Williams to injure Owens, then root for Owens because you think he might bring you a championship (which by the way, I'll take a bet right now that even WITH Owens, this team isn't winning a super bowl). I can't.

And I'll say it again, it has to do with experience and perspective.

Who's favorite?

Wager time? You want to bet that the vast majority of football magazines still won't choose the COwboys as the NFC favorite if they had Owens?

Vegas?

You'll find a very small minority who would elevate the Cowboys to NFC favorites simply because Owens was on the roster.

Gotta agree with you there.

If the Giants have any kind of Draft at all, they'll get the pub and so will the Commanders. And why not? They are the teams that got it done last year.

and I would have to agree w/both of you. We still have a suspect OL, still a couple of holes at LB and S not to mention a pk. Signing TO will not erase those ??????

Nope. And that makes it even more distasteful. Geez, if he was the one player we needed to put us over the top, I'd still :puke: at the idea of signing him...but at least a championship would be the upside.

OR if I felt Parcells was here to stay and could control the guy...but uh, what happens when Parcells leaves?

That said, do you think the Cowboys would be willing to Trade KeShawn Johnson for TO? Provided the "trade TO" scenario comes to the fore. And further, would we be willing to trade to another NFCE team.;)

I hate to admit it but I like what Keyshawn's role is for the Cowboys. However, I cant imagine many (if any) teams willing to trade for him.

I find hypocrisy amusing. I won't defend Owens. He's a self absorbed jerk. No doubt about it. But is calling out your QB any worse than being caught with drugs and hookers right after the SB? How many wanted us to trade for Ray Lewis, a guy who was either directly or indirectly involved in a murder? Is calling out your HC like KJ did in Tampa a bunch better than what Owens did other than having less press coverage? Is spiking the ball on the star so much worse than some of the ******** TD celebrations other WR's have done? Who wouldn't take Chad Johnson here? And the drama queens that are going to burn their Cowboys stuff or never watch a game until he's gone- we so admire your convictions but there's really no need to announce your departure in advance 100 times- just go away. The Cowboys will manage to survive without you.

If BP thinks he wants to take a shot with Owens it's his call to make and I support him. If he wants to run away at full speed that's fine by me too- again his call. Either way I'll watch the games and I won't be sticking pins in Owens voo doo dolls. End of rant.

Give it to me.......I'll do it.

sign Owens. The SOB disgraced our star. Enough said.

this is not the most popular move to me but get over it. Are you forgetting that we are a franchise that once signed Cryan Leaf? And you are still here...

At least Owens has talent. If you are going to be an a$$hole at least have talent.

All of the fans who are on this board need to realize this issue is going to make some diehard fans no longer watch the Cowboys. This is a large percentage of internet surfing Cowboys fans, and who knows how many more that don't surf the internet.

It looks like Jerry can count on a minimum of 25% of his revenue LOST if he signs T.O. He'd better take that into account.

This is one of the few issues that can turn diehard Dallas fans away. For that reason it is not a good move!

I would be willing to make a bet that Dallas' revenue increase next season wether we sign TO or not. There is not a chance in hell he loses 25% of revenue

There's no way Owens is getting more than a 1 or 2 year deal from anybody. Every single "player" for TO from Denver to KC has basically come out and said they have no intention of signing him long-term.

There are plenty of issues, but this is not one of them.

I have agreed with you in the past, I have disagreed with you in the past, but I have never laughed so hard at a post in my life.

Any SELF RESPECTING DALLAS COWBOY FAN isn't going to put one player above the TEAM.

PS.....A lot of fans said the same thing when we signed Primetime......Jerry hasn't had to sell the team yet.
