Ummm...Thats why they added the 3rd game on the NFL Network.

Yeah, I thought that was a really nice compromise, actually. You keep tradition but add some flare with the flavor-of-the-month game.

I guess one wasn't enough, though. It's unfortunate. I've always even enjoyed watching the Detroit game early on Thanksgiving, no matter how god awful they are.

All he is saying is that the owners will discuss the options. I assume that many owners would like that sort of exposure for their teams or would at least like some concession on some other issue to let things stay as is.

Tradition is nice. But so is having some better matchups on Thanksgiving.

Well now this is one place where I'll absolutely say he's stupid and anyone else trying to change the tradition of Thanksgiving day games is stupid. This is how it's been for a long time and it shouldn't change.

Alot of people don't have NFL Network. Up until 3 months ago, I didn't have it.

Regardless, on Thanksgiving, I wouldn't mind seeing the "best" matchup, as oppose to the same two teams.
The Thanksgiving Day game isn't going to be flexed...so chances are you aren't going to get a better matchup than Dal and Balt.

Its just too deep into the season to tell what will be a good matchup.

what a travesty that would be.

What next are they going to start using neon yellow footballs so the fans can see them better in the stadium.

Not having a game in detroit and dallas is simply dumb.

The third game on thanksgiving is dumb.

Why would he even entertain this idea.

I remember when no team wanted to play on Thanksgiving and Tex Schramm stepped up and said the Cowboys would.

I might stop watching football if ludicrous items like this turkey day tradition stopping measure are acted upon. Really am not a fan of the politics of the modern sport, truly am turned off by it.

I think he's been more than fair to Dallas..Letting Pacman have 2 chances...He's a good commish, dont hate on him!

Bull. Steelers players did worse, and Goodell did nothing at all.

This is stupid Dallas picked up a game no one else wanted and it's become a tradition, now when all of a sudden the rest of the league want back inn on the action due to the success it's become for the Cowboys they're is supposed to just give it up? screw that everyone had their shot and no one wanted it

Goodell is a moron. No other way to put it. Take the team that is the leagues leader in ratings and has played on Thanksgiving every year since 1966 just so some owners can be happy.

Even taking the Lions out would be stupid. They have played on Thanksgiving every year since WW2, IIRC.

Yep, he's been the worst Commish to date, so this is just par for the course.

Goodell is a sorry individual. I hope the NFL & Owners turn on him completely.

Change is good.

I can see mixing it up a little.

BUT... you dont have to take the Cowboys out of the Thursday slot.

Currently there are 3 games. Keep the Cowboys and Lions. Mix up their opponents(obviously).

Make some of the Cowboys and Lions Thanksgiving games away. Let the other team reap the benefits too.

Make the last game the game that is always different from the year before.
