I agree on this ...in my opinion the urgency should be On Daks side. He is the one that doesn’t have the big money , security both short and long term. Unless he goes out and lights it up (always a possibility ) the money shouldn’t go up too much as outside of some young QBs who aren’t eligible yet ::. The money / market is somewhat established already. On the other hand Dallas is committed to Dak as their starter long term so no reason to wait really eitherWhy is there any urgency at all on this anyway? It's not like he's holding out. Let him play out the season
This deal with Dak was always gonna get done right about now...week 2 at latest. Its right on schedule. Same with Amari.

Not a fan.Why “good riddance” for Brown?
He's not a franchise QB though. He's the 19th best QB in the league. Franchise QBs are top 10.Rumors are that the Cowboys promised Dak that they would give him an extension before the season started and that is why he did not hold out like Zeke.
Honestly, if I am Dak's agent, I tell the Cowboys that my client is not taking the field Sunday without a new contract. Going out and playing a game with just $2 million left on his rookie deal would be astronomically stupid for Dak to do, he is risking millions and millions of dollars if he gets hurt.
Ergo...……..I am 99% sure this deal gets done and Dak is signed before kickoff Sunday. It would send a very bad message to the lockerroom to make your franchise QB play under those circumstances.
Unfortunately what you or I think means nothing to the guys writing the checks .. if they want to pay him like top tier they will pay him like top tierHe's not a franchise QB though. He's the 19th best QB in the league. Franchise QBs are top 10.
