Cowboys may be eyeing Joe Milton

Well, they could have interest. But if the Patriots are asking for a Day 2 pick, I don't think any team has that much interest.

If you’re thinking of drafting a QB on day 2, and we might be, then Milton is as good of a choice as any of these QBs if not better.

He’s on his rookie deal and he was impressive.

He’s big, mobile, and has a cannon.

The guy's intriguing but unless they'll take a 6th and a fifth you know one of our comp picks we got that I'm not gonna go there because he's still a project I know he's had a couple flashes but we've seen that before which direction does he really go...

They'd be better off packaging something like that in the draft on draft day getting back up into the 4th somehow and getting a quarterback of their choosing in the fourth with a brand new reset rookie contract...

Uhhh, NO.

An ESPN article mentioned the Cowboys as "a possible fit" as New England looks to trade Milton.

At no point has anyone even remotely associated with the Cowboys ever hinted they have interest in Milton. I guess reporting Dallas as a possible fit now means they are interested, at least in today's click-bait infatuated media.

Milton completed less than 35 percent of his passes last preseason. He carved up Buffalo's backups in a game they weren't even trying to win in his only game action last season.

The Cowboys would be better off re-signing Lance than giving up a pick for Milton.
Jerry seems to like trading 4th rounders in bad deals, so watch out.

We have a plethora of 5ths, so sure, why not. However, figure out first why he's on the block to begin w/.

Elongated release, very slow decision maker, no touch, stares down targets. Sounds like a typical Jerry acquisition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well two straight seasons we don't have a fourth so it would have to be next year's 4th I don't have a problem give him a fourth for this guy if they really believe he still developing but if his upside is that big like better than Trey Lance then why not I'm not agreeing that you should but maybe you give a 6th and 1/5 or 2/5 from this year if they really believe he can help the team that's not a big deal... I mean people keep saying how we waste a fourth while you you know what Trey Lance you know what team picked him in the draft and gave three first round picks for the guy yeah that would be the 49ers front office that was dumb just because the Cowboys took a fire on him with a fourth it's not really that big a deal I don't have a problem with it to this day,

now Mingo I've got a problem with that one no doubt dudes a 6th , 7th most likely he was probably gonna be cut anyway and you could have picked him up this offseason for nothing so yeah this one was not a fan of but Trey Lance I still don't think that was a mistake...

i liked him at tennessee.
if there isn't a qb in this class they like better,i'd be ok with it.
im not giving up a 2nd or 3rd tho.

I'd take the year of experience over a new rookie.

On draft day they could easily acquire a 4th in trade. They got a 3rd last year that ended up getting them Cooper Beebe.

They also can still sign Lance if they want and his price is coming down.

Lance likely wants 5M+ for 2025.

That was his 2024 $$$$

Dallas wants to spend 1M. League min.

Lance is a dual threat QB.

Let Dallas pay some scrub.

Lance isn’t cheap.

That could possibly be true but you're just assuming things that doesn't mean they'll get one... It couldn't hurt though to play hardball offer them a 5th and 1/6 or 2/5... See if they bite but you're right they can bring back Lance there's other free agents out there typically when you lose your starter doesn't really matter who your backup is there's usually a big drop off and you're gonna lose a lot of games so I think I'm still siding with they should get one around the 4th or fifth round in this draft and just pick one yourself get him on a rookie contract and just go with it..

I'm not sure, the fact he's being shows they have no long/short turn plan and they could very well be in the process of releasing him. The best I would do is conditional 6th......escalated to 5th if he starts a few games.
I think they were just hedging their bets, taking a player with potential to give them multiple shots at finding a QB, especially after their last first-rounder failed. Now that they feel they have found their franchise QB, if they can profit from taking Milton, I can't blame them. They are not just wanted to trade him for what he cost.

So I'm looking at the draft and Tennessee has the first pick and reportedly going to pick Cam Ward. With this not being a great QB class, I'm wondering why they are giving up on Will Levis so soon? He's only played 2 seasons, he's had only about 17 starts, he has a rocket for an arm but yes, he makes some dumb *** mistakes! Could he be a QB you could still pick up on his rookie contract and let him sit behind let's say DAK?
