If they aren't going to re-sign Murray or trade for Peterson, they need to go ahead and sign Spiller and plan on drafting a running back and plan on releasing Randle at the earlier convenience. The guy doesn't even have trade value at this point. If the Lions gets Spiller, Jaguars get Murray, and Cardinals get Peterson, I'd be a bit peeved.
I don't want us to break the bank for Murray, and can't wait to see him go to another team and try running behind their line without the same level of success.
I think we'll be find without him, but we do need to act accordingly.
It's one thing not to overpay players, but it is another to be reactionary. This team still needs to get better on defense, and it needs to at the very least maintain what it has on offense. At this moment we're a worse team than we were when we played Green Bay.
Again, I'm not saying we should break the bank or overreact, but we do need to be proactive here. We don't want a repeat of what we saw at Defensive End last year.
