It's time for the Cowboys to tell Earl Thomas that you can't go home again
DALLAS — Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas has professed his love for the Dallas Cowboys time and again, subtly on social media and demonstrably outside of locker rooms at AT&T Stadium. We get it. He wants to play for America's Team.

First of all, I don't see why loving a certain team qualifies anyone as being a great fit for said team. How many Cowboys fans do you think are out there on NFL rosters right now? How many of them would actually help the team? How many would let the dream of playing for their favorite team sweep them up in a contentment to where they can't do their jobs?

This is one of the dumbest premises I’ve encountered

Trading a premium pick for Thomas is just a bad deal, but if the reports are correct, we were ready to give a 2nd during the draft before we saw we could get Williams.

So management apparently disagrees.

I think he would be a definite uptick for our D, but I still wouldn't commit that kind of money to a 29 year old player. Then again I've got that "We're broke & can't afford to spend any money" mantra ingrained into my psyche.

Compensation for great player >>>>> Great player wearing the "Star"

no thank you

I throw a 5th rounder at the Seachickens. If that doesn't work, I walk away forever. If Randy Moss, still in his late prime, was only worth a late pick for the Pats, then so is Thomas. Besides, Thomas had a major injury and plays a super physical position. So, IMO, he isn't worth a high pick, or even the money it take to reup him. BTW, he is one of my favorite Longhorns of all-time.

No! Earl is coming here! He tackled Garrett in the tunnel! It is DEST-TINY!

It's really simple.

With Earl, the Cowboys will have an above average defense that can play against the Eagles or and other good offenses.

Without Earl, the Cowboys will have an average at best defense that will get steamrolled by the Eagles and other good offenses.

The secondary needs a veteran presence. Especially a star veteran presence.
