But I did see Fields do similar to the Pats a couple of times. Of course, that was the Pats, not Micah. He may get that elusive interception next week.

It's a strength vs weakness on both sides of the ball. Bears and Cowboys both have great rushing attacks and, while they have tough defenses overall, are weaker vs the run.

Comparable to the Giants game I think.
What Montgomery was doing up the middle to NE is what I'm worried about. That guy's legs just keep churning.

No, they can't.......Field is nowhere near as good as Hurts right now and doesn't have the same offensive threats. The Eagles offense forces teams to prepare for TWO legit top 5 WRs, top 10 TE, top 15 RB, and a QB who is leading all QBs in rushing attempts ( he's a threat to run with every dropback).
Now ask yourself, who scares you on the Bear's offense?

Any team that plays the Bears and whose major priority isn't making Field beat you with his arm should lose. I'm stacking eight, maybe nine in the box. As for the Pats, what happened to Belichick scheming an offense to a min production, even with average talent?
Bellychickens is strictly a D coach. He desperately needs an OC like Josh McDaniels. He's a savante on D, and a t ard on O.

• 45 rushes for 243 yards, 5.4 yds per carry
• long runs of 12, 13, 20, and 29 - by 4 different players6
• RB by committee, led by QB Fields - 14 carries for 82 yds
• time of possession nearly one whole quarter more - 37:14 to 22:46
• Bears offense had 70 plays to Patriots' 48

Yep, and we tend to fare poorly against running QBs. So, this is looking like a tough match-up. Maybe our offense can finally do something to match the defenses playmaking.

Your LB's will get hurt trying to make up for lackluster DT play. That has played out many many times.

A look at rushing yards each game against Dallas in 2022:

week 1 vs. TB: 152 yards
week 2 vs. CINN: 89 yards
week 3 vs. NYG: 167 yards
week 4 vs. Wash: 142 yards
week 5 vs. LAR: 38 yards
week 6 vs. Philly: 136 yards
week 7 vs. DET: 117 yards

That averages out to 120 yards rushing/game against the Dallas defense.

The Chicago Bears offense comes into week #8 as the leading rushing team in the NFL with an average of 181 rushing yards/game (Dallas is 14th with 121 rushing yards/game).

The Bears offense is last in passing yards per game at 126 yards passing/game (Dallas is 27th with 183 yards/game).

The Bears offense is 24th in points scored per game at 18 points/game (Dallas is is 22nd with 19 points/game).

The Bears defense is the 3rd worst against the run giving up an average of 149 rushing yards/game (Dallas is 14th @ 121 yards/game).

The Bears defense is 3rd best against the pass giving up 180 yards/game (Dallas is 4th at 185 yards/game).

The Bears defense is 7th best in points allowed/game with 18.9 (Dallas is 2nd best at 14.9 points/game).

....so while some may look at Chicago as an easy win game, the stats above show that the Bears defense is not a joke and this game easily can go either way depending on what happens in the trenches.

What about points given up each week? The D gives up those rushing yards, but keeps teams out of the end zone as well, or hold to FG's.
Not sure what the Bears do, but if their D is 7th then they too must do a decent job.
But yeah, this will not be as easy as many believe. I think the Bears are better than their record indicates.

I agree 100% I been saying this the entire time. Many fans are being dismissive of the Bears. Its a mistake. Lets hope the team and DQ aren't. They have 0 fear after beating NE. We need to bring our A game.

You see this is exactly an example of why this board is so infected. This thread began without a mention of the qb but this is what happens regularly
Not enough Dak threads for you?
Go look at Dak's playoff performances in the divisional round in 2016 against the Packers and in the wildcard round in 2018 against the Seahawks. That's not including so many regular season games throughout his 7 year career. Totally destroys your false narrative.
Packers had the 31st ranked pass defense.
Zeke and the offensive line carried Dak in that Seattle game. Zeke had 140+ all purpose yards.
Dak was choking and had a couple 3 and outs before he finally RAN for a first down. That was like his claim to fame play and really he didn't trust his arm just like at the end 49ers playoff loss. What about the win and your in the playoffs vs Wentz and WRs off the street. What choke job.
Did well on that opening drive against the Rams but those were scripted plays. When asked to read the defense the team kept going 3 and out and to make matters worse the defense was struggling to stop the run and the offense wasn't helping. Dak was exposed by Denver in 2017 and what the heck happened last year Denver again. It's one thing to lose or just get beat by another team but the way Dak performs in these losses is awful. There is no reason for Dallas to look so poor against Tampa when they have had all summer to prepare. You keeping talking narrative but the only narrative is to see the Cowboys win a SB. And this clown QB isn't getting It done.

That wasn't whining. You really shouldn't just call everything whining just because you're not interested in analyzing. Stay out of thread if you don't want to discuss.
It most definitely is whining with a capital W. The thread was about the Chicago running game and 3 post in it becomes about Dak.
How about all you whiners try and stay on topic and keep all your WHINiNG to the 50 Dak threads on this board

Keep it simple on D. Spy Fields. Prioritize stopping up the gaps, over rushing the passer, on all but the most obvious passing downs. Fields isn't going to win it with his arm no matter how much time he gets. He also won't be able to consistently make enough plays with his arm to put together a long drive, so giving up a 3rd and 5 because you sacrificed pass rush for run defense isn't going to hurt you.

I have not seen the Bears play this year. PFR has them ranked at 3rd against the pass and 29th against the run. Cowboys are 4th and 20th.

This could be an old school, '3 yards and a cloud of dust' game.

Dude, whining about the whining because you want the whining to stop is the worst kind of whining.

In other words.... If a tree whines in the forest with nobody around to hear it, did it really whine?

To be fair, the subject doesn't need to be broached in every single thread, so for the people who disagree with that take, it's gotta get extremely disheartening to have to deal with it no matter where you look.

Between small DTs and vander trash this team is very weak against the run. Hopefully we start out fast and make fields have to throw on us
