Has no one been listening when coach is talking about getting the RKG? Did you think he was just kidding? A guy on the commish's exempt list is not the right kind of guy. Why would anyone think this team would really be interested? I can understand wanting him on our defense but actually thinking there was a chance of that happening is just not keeping things real. I don't understand why this would be a surprise to fan's that keep up with the team.

Look, I am fine with not wanting Hardy because he is "not the right type of guy". Garrett thinks he is more trouble than he is worth? Fine. Don't sign him.

But, the fact we have not picked up a single impact player for this defense worries the hell out of me. Don't want to sign Hardy? Sign someone else. Orakpo, Derrick Morgan....somebody. We have gotten weaker thus far this off-season.

I realize that the off-season is not over yet but I worry that we will rely on draft picks to make an immediate impact and that doesn't always happen. Yes, we could sign some castoffs after the June 1st cuts but they are castoffs for a reason.

Had we kept Durant or Carter, I would worry less but, as it stands now, I am worried.

Losing Jason Worilds is a pretty big hit for Pittsburgh

I'd kick the tires on Michael Johnson.

A lot of talent there and a great position coach.

He looked great in Cincy.

1 bad year and hes all of a sudden a bum? No.

Go get that guy.

I'm not sure why we haven't. I see the Vikings are looking at him.

This team talked him out of retirement.

we had his rights and he was never a free agent.

if he was a free agent we never would have touched him. --may have moved on quickly if it wasn't for the victim's mom.
a judge ruled hardy did threaten and assault his gf at the time.
if hardy was a cowboy when that happened we probably stand by him.
but he wasn't and we probably won't touch him now.

the trial itself cast a dark light beyond a quick domestic situation.
hardy was in the presence and probably using coke, was drinking and wielding an impressive arsenal of weapons.
we can debate how much of the actual fight he was responsible for and whether or not he really threatened the chick with a gun to her head but the other stuff was corroborated by other witnesses and even the stuff that happened out in public is questionable.
so hardy is not a RKoG period.
sorry your feelings are hurt by that but Fish is a legit reporter and the story is very likely true.

Terrible news.

Pass rush isn't getting fixed this year...

At this point going BPA in the draft is not going to be easy. RB, LB, DE, CB all need to be addressed. The pass rush will be questionable at best again next year. Hardy is the one guy that could completely remove a need thats left. Disappointing if this is true.

Yup! DE and RB are the two most glaring needs. They can still add depth though free agency but they must definitely must address the d-line.

Did not think about Johnson. Definitely worth a look.

well the quick answer is kiffin talks to guys in tampa.
if they saw enough to flat cut him you gotta assume it is work ethic related.

mcclay/rod combo has done good things with additions like selvie and mincey. we need that duo to work its magic for sure.

i'd go get the guy btw, i think he offers a good value right now after a year in football purgatory.

Again I could careless one way or the other but too many here get RKG confused with choir boy and that is not the case. Brent was retired he came back and the cowboys signed him to an extension no less. The cowboys did not have to talk him out of retirement, if he was not RKG his friends mother's pleas would mean nothing, not mention then sign him to an extension. Hardy was found guilty by a judge in the NC court system that makes most misdemeanors go through a bench trial and he was found guilty by the judge, who may have had a bias, and then had the case dismissed on the jury trial, under suspicious circumstances but his record shows NO CONVICTION.

Hardy is a talent and it would have been nice.
But not a RKoG likely to be had at the right price so it was always an extreme longshot.

The team has acknowledged pass rush issues so hopefully a move is forthcoming.

At this point, I don't see a move to be made.

The music has stopped and we don't have a seat.

I would disagree no way TB gives Carter that big of a contract if Marinelli was honest to Lovie about him.

Exactly and no one is left so your left with rolling the dice with draft. One will said player even be there and two will said player be able to bring an impact like Martin last year....that is the type of player this team needs if they want to take the next step.

Kiffin is out. Marinelli would be the one doing those communications

So Hardy was drunk, had some coke, had a huge arsenal of weapons, beat up his gf, and then decided to call the cops? Does that make sense to you?
