Cowboys now worth 15.5 billion

“The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Sunday the government acquired the share of the NFL club when it assisted NCNB Corp. of North Carolina in its takeover of First Republic Bank of Dallas.

The Cowboy shares formerly were owned by three of the team's limited partners, Brad Camp, Foster Yancey Jr. and J.L. Huffines, and had been pledged as collateral on a series of real estate loans that went into default.”

As I suspected this was directly connected to Bum Bright and his limited partners due to Savings and Loans.

You said you needed receipts

Receipts were provided

When the Feds seize 13% of a company and another 40% is headed to foreclosure, the company itself is in a state of collapse. The team was on life support.

The brand was still the Cowboys. You can be proud of that. I am

But when a business is being carved up by banks and the federal government, it’s not just a cash flow problem.

But it wasn’t the Cowboys who were going thru bankruptcy. It was their owners. Big difference.

EXACTLY. Perfectly said.
#Emphasis: And these profits come off of 2 consecutive 7 win seasons.

It makes no business sense whatsoever for a failed NFL commodity like this to generate these net gains.

It's one of the world's and life's biggest mysteries as to how such continued financial success is possible while achieving no onfield success whatsoever in 3 decades.
Not a mystery. See post 81

LOL at cowboys fans crying. I'm sure the Jacksonville jaguars fans are feeling really sorry us right now.o_O

Just buy shear size those teams will make money. I dont think there is a single major sports league with just one NY team. I think having rivalries in other major markets like Boston and Philadelphia help too. Especially in the social media age. Thats alot of traffic and metions
Size and the fact that New Yorkers have an unhealthy obsession with identifying themselves with their state.

You ever met someone from New York who didn’t mention that they are from New York within the first sentence of meeting you?

Well, it’s not just the Cowboys. It’s most of the NFL enjoying hundreds of millions of revenue and value of billions , several with less success this era than Dallas.
Good call.
It's practically a money making entity regardless of team or onfield success.

It's just how outlandisly out in front the Cowboys are to the other 31 teams is still particularly noteworthy.

They are good at what they do. People talk talk about Jerry Jones as if he is a moron. He is anything but. What he wants isnt in line with what fans want.

Their profits skyrocketed following two years of missing the playoffs

When you're worth 15 billion dollars your priorities our little different than the guy who punches the clock and lives paycheck to paycheck.

You can afford to do things anyway you so desire and if that means working and employing your whole family doing jobs they aren't very good at then that's what you're able to do when you're a multi-billionaire.

You feel like putting winning a Super bowl for the fans on the back burner and creating generational wealth for your grandchildren well that's your prerogative.

We long time fans just accept the scraps that Jerry throws us now and again.

Yes, but it’s totally explainable. The Cowboys have 20-25,000 more seats to sell than most NFL cities and as a result attract more stadium sponsorships .

no. It’s not.

You’re moving the goalposts.

The Feds seizing ownerrship shares of a of a team has never happened except this one time.

Not sure why you’re trying to minimize what happened.

But that’s fine. Go ahead and believe that.

bum Bright was bankrupt and they were seizing his assets
and the Cowboys were a part of his assets
I really do not understand your desperate need to make it anything else.

The Lakers sold today for 12.5 billion. Better rethink what the cowboys would go for if they were put up for sell. 24 billion?

Do it Elon!
The Jones family has so much money, that money is not the point. How fun would life be if all you did was...... NOTHING? 10 bill, 20 bill, 50 billion. At what point does it just not matter? The Jones family is not selling this team in my lifetime.
