To make it his Home and Wherever he goes his going to want at lease a 3 Year Deal..20 Mill sounds reasonable just under 7 Mill Per Season
Apparently, Cooper was also frustrated with Dak.Dak was frustrated with Cooper.
That is my thought as wellWe saved 20 million from letting Cooper go for peanuts. So 10 million a year is worth it if he can get us over the hump.
I can't imagine anyone in the league would do that for a guy coming off a knee injury late in the season.I think he probably wants more than 10M on a 3-4 year deal. This year 5M then 12-15M a year for 2 years, third year would be optional.
The contract would look big 40-50M but there will probably only be 17-20M guarantee, 5M this year 12-15M next.
I say do it, we need the talent on offense and we have the cap space.

You sir are insane. This seems accurate. I think his deal will be 3 years and somewhere north of 10 mil per year.

I've posted already. Teams aren't going to do it. He wasn't a top producer or big salary guy before the knee injury. He's going to have to prove he deserves a decent sized contract.Based on what? If he’s seeking a multi year deal why would he take any kind of discount?
MG will make about 10 mil a year starting next year and he was coming off an injury too.

Maybe someone will sign him to a fake extra years contract. Non guaranteed that they cut him or they are voided.
Using that logic why not bid against yourself and give him $50 Million? We saved 20 million from letting Cooper go for peanuts. So 10 million a year is worth it if he can get us over the hump.

If you’re implying his box score stats from the last 2 years will drive his price I think that’s way off. He played in 7 games in 2020 and has been playing with Mayfield who was awful.
As soon as he got to the Rams he looked good.
As long as the medicals clear and his workouts are impressive he’s going to get paid.
I don't know that letting Cooper go justifies signing OBJ, but the question has to be asked that with OBJ coming off a major injury and with almost 3 years having passed since his last really impactful year, how can we feel confident he would notably increase our chances to get over the hump?
That said, if the price tag is the equivalent of $10 million, but we pay him only $5.29 million since there is only 52.9% of the season left, and it if is for one season only, it's probably not a bad deal. No long term cap implications if it doesn't work out.
I would be much more cautious about a multi year contract.
