There is no justification for letting Cooper go and not spending it on a dependable replacement. Juju Smith Shuster and Julio Jones could have been gotten for cheap but yet again we play the waiting game. Thus we lose all leverage in getting a deal done and suffer from the incompetence of this front office.

OBJ played a major part in getting the Rams into the Superbowl and winning it. If he is healthy and ready to go, I would sign him for that amount of 10 per. year deducted games played.
Julio Jones is pretty much done and that was $6 million. Schuster would have been okay but isn't he a slot? Can he play outside? They want guys they can move around. He probably wanted to play with Mahomes.

Is there an actual source saying that he will command $10MM per year? Maybe it's accurate, but that just sounds insane to me.

Spotrac has his market value at 13.1M. But as others have pointed out, that doesn't seem to make sense.

I'm guessing he's going to be paid based on what team wants him the most. If two teams want his services badly enough, he could make a lot more than people expect.

Schuster isn't a slot person. I don't think so. We could have gotten him if we tried. We knew we needed speed and Julio Jones could have given us that. But our front office didn't even try. I think they are too lazy or too slow to act. Especially Capboy.

Would The Cowboys Take Up Cap Space For a 1 to 2 Year Deal For OBJ? at 10 Mill a Year.

What Is Your All Thoughts On This One>

10mil is the outer limits of what I'd want to spend for him. Probably past the outer limits. 7mil I could live with.

"Whether it's Buffalo, Green Bay calling, the Cowboys, or reunion with the Giants,'' he said, "I want to be able to spill these last three or four years into these next three or fours into something where I can buy a home, like somewhere I can call home."

Beckham added that he does not want to "live out of a suitcase,'' saying he is tired of the "rock-and-roll lifestyle."

What they didn't want to give Amari Cooper, they will have to give to OBJ to secure his services. So I don't think it will happen.
they absolutely will not have to at this point in the season and his career but if he can somehow get that from someone, more power to him.

10mil per year? Idiocy from zoners wanting Jerry to blow his cap... Stephen in charge and Jerry in the woodshed. No way!

I'm Hearing That OBJ Asking Price Would Be Around 10 Mill a Year.

So, Would The Cowboys Eat Into There Cap Room For a 1 to 2 Year Deal For OBJ?

At 10a year you better get him on a 3 year deal. Plenty of room for 10 a year. Now if he wants 20+ then its a bit harder but doable

I didn't say the Cowboys shouldn't have spent some of what was saved on a replacement, but that doesn't mean OBJ is a good choice.

Smith-Schuster might have been a good option, but not so sure about Julio. He missed a lot of games with injuries in both 2020 & 2021, and he is 33, so it may have been difficult to think of him as a "dependable" replacement. He certainly hasn't been with the Titans.

If he gets a $10 million/year deal, and he is signed with 6 games left, his CAP impact is only for those 6 games, or about $3.5 million. If he signs for more than 1 year. If the Cowboys do sign him to a multi-year deal, I would give him a small signing bonus this year and a roster bonus next year. I would not pay him a lot of money up front.

He's on the wrong side of 30 and coming off of consecutive major knee surgeries. I can't believe any team would throw major $$$ his way. Maybe a lower salary with incentives and keep it to 2-3 years max

Based on what? If he’s seeking a multi year deal why would he take any kind of discount?

MG will make about 10 mil a year starting next year and he was coming off an injury too.
I've posted already. Teams aren't going to do it. He wasn't a top producer or big salary guy before the knee injury. He's going to have to prove he deserves a decent sized contract.

Maybe someone will sign him to a fake extra years contract. Non guaranteed that they cut him or they are voided.

He signed for 4.75M in 2021 and was not coming off of an injury & was a year younger.

What did he do to boost his value to over 10M per?
