I watched some of that game, and I don't know whether it was Aikman or Stockton who quoted Payton as saying, in regard to Brees facing the Eagles blitzes, "This is a QB who can make the quick decisions and who knows exactly where to go with the ball."

I immediately thought he was comparing Brees to Bledsoe.

Yeah, Cowboys are what? 1st or 2nd in the NFL in points scored per game? Pee-Yew.

I think Parcells is is banking on the defense really gelling by Thanksgiving. Gearing up for a late season run when our schedule softens up.

The offense has 2 good backs, a good TE, and a big time target in TO, all of which work well for the ball controll offense.

That was always the staple of Parcells teams, and I think that's what he's going for.

He's put alot of attention on the defense, and you know he's banking on it.

It's a deal we shall trade paychecks. But Dallas had Joey Galloway and Terry glenn and the NFL's #1 ranked defense and Sean Peyton as an assistant.

I never said they haven't played well and truly they are indeed 5-1 but I think they possess remarkable similarities to the 2003 squad Dallas saw.

Not even close to the team we had in 2003

We had Hamrick as a starting QB and QC

They have lest see Drew Brees a proven solid vet at QB Duce Mcallister a running back who has out up over a 1000 yards several times. Reggie Bush a top draft pick who is leading the NFL in receptions and has show some play making ability.

A solid offensive line a pro-bowl wr in Horn

Now the defense is not as good as the one we had in 2003 but it is a solid defense.

I think there is no question that Bledsoe misses Payton.

How many times have you been left scratching your heads at the playcalling this year? Our committee approach is leaving no one in charge. We have no rhythm to our offense, despite a running game that could be very, very good.

For instance, I'm shocked that Bledsoe hasn't been taught to change the snap count or look for a hot read. I've yet to see him change the count or call at the line when they show blitz.

He did it several times in the Philly game. Troy even commented on it when he did the "cut at the neck" hand signal because he saw the blitz coming.

We just didn't execute.

The obvious difference is that Payton had all week to watch the game film and prepare for the blitzes the Iggles would run.

Being that their offense is basically the same as ours, I can see he would be able to adjust to neutralize things.

And if you would have seen the game, you would know that the Saints stayed with running the ball right up to the end. We didn't. And they spead the Iggles defense with lots of 3-WR sets to spead the defense and not let them blitz.

The Iggles had to look for the run before teeing off at the QB agianst the Saints. The Iggles never worried about us beating them with running the ball as we always abandon the run once we get behind.

Next question.

Yup....they spread the Iggles D all game with three/four man sets.....still waiting to find out why we didn't!!

Since nobody wants to touch the fact that we lead the league in points scored per game (sorry I had to needlessly ruin a good piss and moan fest with facts, I'll try not to do that next time) ....Here's something else to chew on ... if the Saints played in Philly with them as fired up as they were against us, they lose by 4 TD's, regardless of "playcalling".

Funny, I don't seem to recall Cowboy fans regarding Sean Payton as a premiere playcaller when he was here. It seems we *****ed and moaned about playcalling last yer just as much as we do now. It must have been warranted ... there's no way we could have just been *****ing and moaning without knowing what the hell we were talking about. That just doesn't happen. Parcells must have been stiffling him.

We ran a 5 man wide set 5 or 6 times and got killed.

We're talking about different things. That's a kill play into max protect. I'm talking about switching your WR to a high percentage quick throw to beat the blitz, and changing the snap count. max protect isn't good enough.

It is if your LT doesn't let a guy run right pass him to the inside over and over.
