Cowboys OL Coach Riley breaks down how he teaches O-line

I think we expect too much from coaching. Either players have it or they don't. Changing coaches is not going to make miracle happen.

Can't agree, we lost a step after Callahans departure and the line slowly degraded.

On the oline specifically coaching can have a massive impact.

This is dead wrong. I guess Shanahans, Callahan(top running game OL coach), Harbaughs, Reid, etc... can run the ball wherever they go because coaches don't matter. SMH

IMO, Beebe should have been left at guard. I mean, why move him? Hoffman was getting better, and playing well enough. I say this because I'm not sure our best 5 includes Guyton. Remove him, insert Smith permanently at LT, then Bebee at LG,Hoffman at center, and so on. Guyton can be the swing or trade him. Better yet, make him the starting RT. Trade Steele.
To me smith can a pro bowl guard or an avg tackle. Beebe played like a top 10 center in the second half of last year. I like Hoffman but he’s gonna be the swing G/C barring injury. Guyton played RT in college and it was obvious he would need to develop. I’d see what he can do another year. Just can’t give up on a guy after one year. I think he’s probably a better RT but they will keep him at LT another heart. Then I could see them drafting a LT if they can and moving on from Steele with Guyton moving to RT. But Guyton played better late in the season so hopefully he takes a step this year

This is a big upgrade over last year. There isn't any question the run game will have a significantly better run scheme after recent disasters. Thank goodness.
Solari is an OL legend.

Problems start at the HC and his jacked up offense.

That is precisely why MM is no longer here ,he did not hire the best coaches he hired his buddies and Solari was the worst of them.I think Dallas has a better OLINE Coach with Reilly and yes he will make a difference with Guyton and others as well.
Don’t get the Solari hate.

Dude has been in the NFL long time.

Much respected.

Very excited to have an OL coach from this decade of football. Him and Adams go well together.
I am looking forward to seeing what Adam's and Reilly can do working together on this Oline and running game. I am optimistic about it being very good. Dallas will be a better coached team and this is a better roster, we should see better results.

Again, this is out of context of the conversation. My comment that we expect too much from coaches was in reference to the offensive line coach and his style. Of course coaches make a difference to a team, but I was saying we expect too much from coaches when it comes to individual players. A good coach is not going to turn a bad player into a good player. Can they make a difference? Yes, but that difference is not as great as some expect. People are turning this into a different conversation.

The offensive line will depend on the improvement of Guyton and Steele. the development of Beebe and the readiness of Booker. Certainly coaches will help these guys, but they cannot work miracles. The players still have to have the talent, and the motivation to improve themselves. I don't see the argument that all the other coaches these players have had did nothing but the new guy is going to come in a make a huge difference.

Wow. You really dont care that between this take and your constant need to post Mingo's draft profile that you out yourself as having 0 knowledge about football do you?

Overall, outside of a very strong run in his Kansas City days, it's been a lot of average or worse performances across several stops for Solari. It's giving Mike Nolan vibes.12 of his 14 post-KC seasons have been outside Top 20 in sack rate. Only when Eli Manning was the QB was that not the case.9 of 14 seasons have been bottom half in PFF pass-block grade, 7 of them outside the top 20.

Longevity is nice, but cmon man. Run and pass went down hill decades ago. What's your infatuation exactly?
