Mortenson said we are getting a safety, OL depth, and a slot WR. Mentioned Dexter McCluster as a sleeper.

Dilfer said we have to have Jordan Shipley. (Kiper mentioned our 1st rounder for some reason)

They noted how LT was a weak point in the Minny game. That was mildly frustrating.

Kiper suggested Bruce Cambell

If/when they put it up it should be here

Well we did acquire a WR (Roy Williams, and you could make an argument for Miles) and a safety (Sensebaugh)?

Jerry is not drafting a safety in the first 4 rounds of the draft. He got suckered in with Roy Williams and now he's done. We haven't come close to drafting a safety in the first 3 rounds since then. Its just not a position he values greatly.

Why would you take a safety in the first three rounds when we had Roy up until last year and paid Hamlin top safety money after one year of productivity? The contracts Roy and Hamlin got are in complete opposition to your opinion on what Jerry thinks of the safety position.

How was he suckered in taking Roy Williams in the first round in 2002 !?

Sensibility and reason are virtues that many on this board do not possess, Count.

To respond to the "on the clock" posting...Mel Kiper, Jr. is about as reliable as a CowboysZone.com member when it comes to any draft picks outside of 1-5.

Replaced by stupidity and overreaction.

Shipley is a must have for me too Trent. Hopefully Dallas pulls the trigger.

Uh-Oh, we had better hide this tape video from Hostile,

they said the cowboys need a kicker, and you can get one in the 6th or 7th round,

think we need to hide sharp objects from hostile when he sees this?

Roy was totally worthy of that pick. No way we could know he would get lost, less dedicated to football, and hypersensitive about being criticized for it.

Um, not sure it had a thing to do with anything you mentioned. I think it is more a result of the continuing evolution (de-evolution...?) of the S position. For a nicely written thesis on this, see Hostile's previous post right here in this forum not long ago: http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179159

In short, the defensive game evolved to a point that made Roy more of a liability than the tremendous strength he initially was (and he was).

Do you just cut and paste the above in ANY thread that mentions kicker?

Not in the first round like they where hinting at that would just be Al Davis stupid

Would love it if we got him but if we spend a 1st or even a 2nd on him i'll freak out

I like how he said Dallas NEEDS Jordan Shipley. That is the word I have thrown around when talking about us drafting him.

Not only will the guy kill it in the slot he plays 4 different positions.

With his abilitiy to stretch the middle of the field as well as be a posession guy it just seems like such a no brainer pick for us.

Also is there a receiver with better hands in this draft?
