Cowboys open to bringing back Zeke

Too many backs. We're probably not keeping more than four, and that's even if we keep a fullback. I think if Elliott does get brought back, it is probably at Jones' expense. Malik would end up on the practice squad, which is where I expect him to end up anyway if Deuce shows anything. Luepke takes the place of a tight end, most likely McKeon.
That's Practice squad included
Active Zeke, TP Duece
FB Luepke Hybrid FB/HB
Malik , Jones not active unless needed

Stash a Couple of them on Special Teams

He may be the answer on short yardage, but we certainly don't know that at this point. Might not even make the team.
So far he's taking some 1st team snaps. All accounts are that he's really impressed them. A multi-tool player, we'll see how well he blocks in training camp.

Cheap and healthy? Why not? Great short yardage and if you NEED 5 -10 yards, he can punch forward. Scores in the redzone a bunch. Great teammate and locker room guy. I would just hope others get the bulk and let the young fellas eat.
You know damn well Jerry would be seeing more $$$

I just hope for both him and the team, that he stays in shape. No sense having a FATTER version of Zeke.

I want it to happen just to see the meltdown from Roy and some others.
I really don’t know why so many fans are opposed to him returning. The possible replacements we have for him are all downgrades.

He's not coming back. McCarthy is just being nice.
It’s not likely, but I wouldn’t totally rule it out. I don’t believe the team is comfortable with the replacements they have for him. If we can’t pick up a yard or two on third and fourth down or in goal-line situations to punch it into the endzone we’re going to end up in trouble. He did lead the team last season with 12 TDs, which was only three behind his career best. He provides value in short yardage situations.

Another article giving hope to delusional fans who somehow forget how trash Zeke was vs the 49ers. Same fans who, out of nowhere, start talking about goaline/short yardage situations like it's more important than 1st and 10 or even having a RB who can actually get you to the redzone.

This is Friday the 13th, Halloween and any other horror movie that pops up when you thought it was over.

It doesn't look like any team wants Zeke, so unfortunately this may go on for awhile.

Jab: You guys want to give Zeke 10 carries that would go for 38 yards lol...watch what these other RBs do.

He isn't trash when he is rested and healthy. He is excellent in short yardage and on the goal line.

Exactamundo. Many of these posters bragged that Zeke was needed because Pollard could not carry the load. And they doubled down on this stance even after seeing Zeke's production fall off a cliff the last two years. Then we see Zeke's putrid performance without Pollard on the field and now the narrative has shifted to he's a "short yardage specialist."

One of the problems here is that we are not allowed to bump old threads so people think that everyone falls for the okidoke with a 5 second memory followed by amnesia.

You can fool all of the people some of time; you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time.

1 yard and a cloud of dust.
That can often be the difference between punching it in the endzone and having to settle for an FG. Not being able to pick up a yard can cost you a football game.
