Cowboys place 2nd round tender on Aubrey

I hope he doesnt become disgrutled and start to suck ; but wouldn't that casue him to lose value going into the next season ? He just needs to wait it out and he may get a big payday next season. Maybe he can even up his game and increase his value even more.

No one is giving a two for Aubrey

Tenders and tags are an owners racket

Fans want to believe in franchise tags and RFA tenders because it “seems fair”, but history shows that it’s just a facade.

The number of players who change teams due to a RFA tender is typically zero and the last time a franchise tagged player changed teams for the two firsts was 25 years ago (cowboys)

The owners have the players by the balls. The NFLPA is a eunach because the owners took the union’s balls and put them in a jar at the door

All this “let him test the market and give us a two” is just a feel good exercised at best and a lack of knowledge at worst

He will probably not get any offer and then the team will sign him to an offer that is likely below they number they were rumors to have on the table

I personally don’t think the cowboys offered much more than a ham sandwich above Butker.

Should had put a1 on the tender not a 2 !
No one is going to sign him to a second round tender, let alone a first

If he were available for a first, Cowboys would have traded him weeks ago. They really don’t value kickers that highly and neither does anyone else

He will be here long term. Best kicker in the league, sadly this team SETTLED far too often for 60 yard field goals because if his ability.

Of course he will miss some when he's asked to do it at a monumental rate

Dies his job better than 99% of him team mates do theirs

I am good either way but I can’t imagine a team letting go of a 2nd round pick for a kicker.

That's the last thig Aubrey would do. If he wants to start missing kicks the $5.8 million he'll make from the Cowboys on his restricted tender will quickly turn into $0.00 from nobody.

Times are changing, smart moves. If someone is dumb enough to give us 2nd rounders we should count our blessings.

Years past these 2 probably would of been signed to inflated contracts and we would all be *****in about it.

We didn't think that the Raiders would get 2 1st round picks for Crosby. This deal on Aubrey is good. We either get him cheap or get the 2nd round pick which they desperately need. I like it.

I would take a 2nd round pick. This would give Dallas even more options with the 2 - 1st round picks, can be much more flexible.
I hope some teams signs bass as well, for a 2nd round pick.

2 - 1st round picks and 2 - 2nd round picks.
They can make a small trade down or 2, and get 1 or 2 - 3rd round picks.

They could have 6 picks in the top 100.
I'm with you.

Would not at all be surprised to see some team pay the second round pick. With a ridiculous number of games coming down to a FG or missed pat….one of the most underrated positions in the game

Cowboys recent 2nd round picks
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Marshawn Kneeland
Luke Schoonmaker
Sam Williams
Kelvin Joseph
Trevon Diggs
Trysten Hill
How would you like Jacob Rodriguez and Mike Washington?

I don't like RFA or the franchise/transition tags at all and I with they would remove them from the NFL.

That said, it's hard to feel sympathy for the players in situations like this because the NFLPA could make elimation of or limits to tagging a CBA negotiation priority, but they don't.

They select other things as more important, which is fine, but they handed the NFL this benefit.

I think that they actually want the 2nd round pick.

A few months ago….folks said Aubrey was our MVP and our best weapon.

Now, folks want to let him go for a 2nd round pick (our recent history in the 2nd is putrid BTW).

People are weird.
It's kind of crazy..... these same people would be demanding that Jerry pay #4 $110 mil a year to keep him on the roster but are willing to toss their top scorer into a dumpster

A 2nd round pick that could net you Jacob Rodriguez isn't a dumpster.
