News: Cowboys plan to sign RB Miles Sanders

Can’t blame the system or line when the backup comes in and runs for 1200 yards on 4.8 yards per carry.
Unless the system really didn't fit Sanders. Still think he's worth a look and I doubt his contract locks him into a roster spot.

The Jones strategy is working. They got a couple of "names" the casual fans are familiar with.

50% of Cowboys fans don't follow the NFL at all and don't realize those two names were among the worst RBs in the NFL last year. Literally. "Solid depth guys" lol. This is a repeat of Zeke and Dalvin Cook from last offseason.

Sanders averaged 3.7 yards last season & 205 total, compared to Dowdle's 4.6 average and 1,076 total.
Newly added Williams also averaged 3.7.

For about the same price as the 2 Jags Dallas brought in, Dallas could have simply retained Dowdle- a far better back.
Jerry is truly brain dead.

sure why not... I'm sure this makes RB in the first two rounds irrelevant to them; it really shouldn't.

So many scrubs that can make a comeback. I guess that was the whole strategy this off-season.

Hey, I am a gambler too. Let lady luck be on their side.
That’s the problem with signing 2 vets. They won’t see RB as a need so won’t consider one till late

It would have been silly to sign Dowdle when we hope to draft a really good RB. You don’t want his backup on a sizable multi year contract. These are good signings because they don’t stop you from drafting one of the top 3-4 RBs who can start immediately, but if the draft doesn’t fall right and you miss a chance at those guys, at least you have a decent stable to start the year with. Last year was a fiasco after we didn’t get a RB in the top 3 rounds.
