I think that Schoonmaker will be a decent player. Williams is decent and Diggs is outstanding.

“Decent” is relative. Tight End is the 22nd most important position on offense or defense, that’s why the franchise tag number is astronomically low. With Jake Ferguson breaking out, you ended up taking a blocking special reserve tight end in the second round. You will never get appropriate value for that pick unless Jake has repeated catastrophic injuries. Schoonmaker will end up being a special teams and goalline player as long as he’s a Cowboy, and you don’t need to burn a top 60 pick to find one of those.

Look at it another way: what team in the NFL has a backup TE that you’d happily give a second round pick for? Thats how bad that selection was.

And good teams are made up of good players. What those good players need is good coaching, and I really don't think that's happening. There's plenty enough talent on this team to go farther than losing in the Wild Card round at home! How many teams still playing wish they had some of these players?

we have good coaches too, what we do not have is discipline, and I believe direct intervention by JJ and telling them how special they are instead of demanding victories is what causes that.

ShortRound you hit the nail on the head there! The culture of expecting something for nothing. It's flourishing everywhere these days.
Problem is, the Cowboys allow it. They played like they expected something for nothing. The offense, defense, and special teams all played poorly. The Cowboys played like they thought the game was just an extension of that drunken party.
