What is a "Romo apologist?"

Someone who apologizes for his great play, dedication, and impact on our organization? Why, then, apologize?

Or is this an apology for his unfortunate injuries the last two years? That's about the only thing deserving of an apology for our guy.

Almost posted the same thing, didn't feel like typing.

Bottom line is, we have two quarterbacks that can win. I say play Dak unless/until the wheels come off; knowing Romo is in the bullpen.

Given Romo's history, Dallas needs to see as much of Prescott as possible to determine if he is, indeed, the future. Right now it looks like Dak is the answer; but there's still a long ways to go this year.

The chemistry of this team tells me there will be no problems internally no matter who starts.

He also deserves an apology from Jerruh for failing him for the better part of his career.

Good to see Romo getting in shape, whether he hits the field this season or not.
Well said indeed sir

Well said, CT! No way do we take Dak out, but our fall back is marvelous!

My thought here is to let him play his four downs , he gets hit end of season .He is a brittle old man who cannot elude the rushers and they all put the helmet in his lower vertebrae.Last year when before he was hurt he was taking pain shots I mean really he needs to give it up.Dak just makes him look old and remember what Romo was several years ago..

Being in good shape is a reward in itself.

Tass, agreed, my man! Happy to see Romo taking the bull by the horns and not packing it in (not that he ever would, he's always been a warrior and consummate pro).

If, heaven forbid, something happened to young Dak, we will be very fortunate to have a healthy, in shape, and ready Romo to step in.

Speaking of "good shape" -- that sig pic... :D

Cool of u to bite. I like ur comments.

It was sort of a tongue in cheek comment. but an apologist typically is someone who offers an argument in defense of something controversial. a defender.

The original comment I was replying to noted how dak could be a ticking time bomb ready to implode. one could say that about Romo and his penchant for being out due to injuries now. it can go both ways for different reasons. romo is an asset to our team. smart guy on the field..his ability to read defenses and his understanding of the playback are second to none. but we loose that assest when he gets injuries putting us in a hole (ie last season).

I agree I've always said jerry never gave him the right kind of supporting characters other lesser qbs have had (who have won a sb). notably a good decent oline early on and a good decent defense most of his career.

I knew that comment would be "controversial". fun fun fun!!

Were you fishing? And thank you.

The rest -- yes, I know what it meant. Just wanted to expound on that damn "Romo apologist" meme.

You can like both (Dak and Romo), or know that there's poeple out there that like both. It doesn't mean the bogeyman is coming after you. "Romo apologist" just doesn't settle right. It actually makes no sense.

I always fish. some bite some dont. usually they bite with Romo stuff. I was getting bored. haha

For sure u can like both, but u can also note their assets and negatives without resorting to uncivil conversation... u know respectful. we are now in a good position because we have great options at qb which we have never had.

Romo apologist doesn't sit well. Not safe. noted. it's controversial too. ur preference of the term is respected. it's not a safe one for sure. it's okay to me. not scary. just fun. tongue n cheek. it's a nuanced thing. not so linear to me. to u it seems black n white ( which is what I'm getting from ur peference) that's fine.

I wasn't trying to be uncivil, 2080. My post wasn't directed at you, per se, and I should have directly stated that. It was meant more towards others here, I just chose your post as a leap-board. I apologize if you felt me coming at you too strong.

I get what you were saying, I was more addressing the growing amount of detractors than the word you used, meme or otherwise. Everyone has a right to post as they wish.

The "fishing" line was tongue in cheek :)
