I am still waiting for the update where it says Smith is in pads.
Does it matter when he's doing this on game day?

Also, Garrett says they will be managing Tyron's workload during the week for the foreseeable future to keep him ready for game days. But he is practicing and he is wearing his pads. Not sure why you're sweating it.

Cool of u to bite. I like ur comments.

It was sort of a tongue in cheek comment. but an apologist typically is someone who offers an argument in defense of something controversial. a defender.

The original comment I was replying to noted how dak could be a ticking time bomb ready to implode. one could say that about Romo and his penchant for being out due to injuries now. it can go both ways for different reasons. romo is an asset to our team. smart guy on the field..his ability to read defenses and his understanding of the playback are second to none. but we loose that assest when he gets injuries putting us in a hole (ie last season).

I agree I've always said jerry never gave him the right kind of supporting characters other lesser qbs have had (who have won a sb). notably a good decent oline early on and a good decent defense most of his career.

I knew that comment would be "controversial". fun fun fun!!
Apologist is someone who has to make excuses to why someone can't get it done. Guys that can get it done don't need excuses.

Cowboys offense the last quarter of 2015 with a dominant run game and Romo at the helm averaged 40 points a game.

I'd like to see what that offense again, only with what Zeke will bring to it.

My thought here is to let him play his four downs , he gets hit end of season .He is a brittle old man who cannot elude the rushers and they all put the helmet in his lower vertebrae.Last year when before he was hurt he was taking pain shots I mean really he needs to give it up.Dak just makes him look old and remember what Romo was several years ago..

Watching the games, you can see he isn't as accurate as Romo. Sure they catch the balls, but the placement isn't the greatest.

Think about Lucky's reception a couple games ago. Behind him. Beasley in the last game, behind. Sure they both caught them, and the stats say 2/2 100% completion, but you could see they were behind and the receivers had to make adjustments to catch them. Those are just two examples. Heck, even the TD to Witten was a bit to Wittens left as opposed to right in the numbers. Completion, but not the same accuracy.
Lucky's in the end zone if he didn't have to almost stop and wait for the pass. Fact

Well people like to make silly claims about Romo so people like to defend Romo. I'm not the only one that does it. countless folks do. apologist is just another way of saying defender. albeit some folks dont take much umbrage to the term "defender" as opposed to "apologist". its spicier that way.

I agree with this. So the question becomes, which is better for this offense, Romo's accurate, attacking downfield passing or the added dimension of Dak's running? I still pick Romo. Dak was simply not very good through three quarters last week I absolutely respect his composure and ability to rise to the occasion in crunch time but I have this sneaking suspicion that the game would not have been close if Romo had been in there. He would have been slicing up that defense for four quarters. I mean, these idiots in the media were saying the same thing about Tim Tebow, when he first started for the Broncos - you can't pull him, the team's winning! Whatever.

Did they ever stop and think this offense might be even better with Romo? I mean, think about what this guy has done. And now you give him Zeke in the backfield? Romo would be unstoppable.

Why base this off one game? Dak played probably one of the best defenses in the league. Yet was still able to make adjustments to win the game.

I heard an interview in which he stated things weren't going well throwing to the rightside of the field. So instead of scrambling to his right - he went left - and voila: Witten was wideout.

It doesn't mean much to most people here. But it means that Dak can adjust on the fly and make proper changes probably more than any QB in the league.

In time he will get better probably sooner than everyone thinks. Soon the NFL will learn to respect him just like any top 5 QB and we won't have this discussion.
