On survival training at the Air Force Academy, we had to eat a raw rabbit's eyeball before we could eat it. You're a tough one...I'll apologize for the I'd be sedimentary rock if my IQ were but four points higher, groupies.

Oh, and it's a bit salty tasting...

Only speaking for myself of course but you really did not have to post this. You could have kept this nugget to yourself. Seriously.

Don't look around the world, you seriously might be afraid...some things just are seriously tough, as is football. The practice was challenged in court, and upheld. Even women are required to pass the test to become an Air Force Academy graduate. Know what it's like to be a POW and a woman? I really didn't describe the tough parts...just for the record...no, really.

Oy vey.

Now I feel bad that I lol"d.

When I was growing up, it was thought less than sincere if one didn't at least seek out to understand the path that another had to walk, at least through his shoes. That is understanding...not acceptance on either observing or having had to walk through difficult times.

What is your point? Or are you just being a pecker for the heck of it?

The point was that he is already putting heavy work in and they wish to limit his throwing.
If other players were going 3 hours hard before practice each day, they may want to dial it back too.
His situation is unique.

It could be worse than he's saying, but nobody knows that and the high road is to take the man for his word.

I'm fine with him not playing in the scrimmage or 3 of the 4 preseason games.
His job is not to make us feel warm and fuzzy....it's to be ready for SF.

Don't feed the trolls

None of us really have any idea how Romo's back is doing...

But if he goes into week 1 cold, without any preseason and moderate practice - things could get ugly. The 49ers are not the Cowboys practice squad. They aren't going to hold back...

I'll be really surprised if he goes the whole season. One day he's saying this is the best he's ever felt and gonna play till age 45 to the next day he says he's a 100% but his back will never be the same and needs to be closely monitored. And then reports out of camp say he's stiff and can't throw the long ball. This all just seems like downplaying a serious issue and over compensating. It's time to start looking for his replacement. I don't even know if this dude has two years left in him.

No big surprise regarding Tony not participating in Saturday's practice. It's all about exercising due precautions. It's early yet. Romo has undergone surgery upon a very sensitive part of the human body. Failing to take necessary precautions would be nothing other than incompetent handling of the situation. Given proper time to rehab, there's no reason why he can't or won't recover. Relax.

Yep. He'll have a bullseye on him.

With a bad back, could a QB hurl a deep ball 55 yards downfield if need be?

That's a significant concern. There are various ways a quarterback could torque his back while passing. There is the possibility he could do so throwing a simple five-and-out pattern, but I am eager to see how fluid his followthrough will be throwing a deep route during in-season game conditions.

lol @ the realization finally hitting some of you that Tony is almost done. Just relax and enjoy football. We aren't going anywhere this year and if we really tank badly we will be in a great position to get a new QB early in next years draft. The team is years away from competing for a super bowl anyway due to poor drafting, over paying vets, and other idiotic decisions made by Jerry Jones.

It wasn't very good last year. Just add one major back surgery to the equation and it is sure to be worse.

I think what we need is hope. I already have said I don't think Tony can get it done. On the other hand, I want him to be good to go. It just sucks to be finished before any games are played and he is our only hope to be competitive. I have absolutely no faith in Weeden especially with this defense. This offense has got to score points. I have my doubts if Tony can start and finish all 16 games. Back pains are some of the worse pain you can ever have.
