Right but, both were talking NFL. At age 45.
Not going to happen in a sport that violent. Not saying it can't happen, but 99%, it won't. This dude may not last the next two years.

I thought I read somewhere 40-50% is new stuff. Please don't tell me we're running the majority of Garrett's stuff..please.

Yeah. But I think this OC is going to be more into moving guys around to were they can best use their skills vs just force fitting stuff. Also supposed to be more formation subsets. Same throws and routes though...hopefully more aggressive.

I'm coming to terms with the fact that Brandon Weeden is likely going to start 2 or 3 games for us this year.

I have no clue how much longer he can or wants to play.

We were told he would be a full go for camp. That doesn't mean he would be participating in each and every practice.

We've also seen players like Witten talk about the extra zip he has on passes this summer.

I don't know if he will be 100% in 4 weeks. I do expect him to be ready for SF.

Here is more from the article:
This will be the third scheduled practice Romo hasn’t been a part of out of the eight practices the team has had in Oxnard. The Cowboys have had two off days out of the 10 days they’ve been in California. All told, Romo has practiced five five of the 10 days the Cowboys have been in training camp.

I expect him to play vs SF. But I certainly will be on the edge of my seat once he gets hit. 8 mons after surgery and there are a lot of questions and a lot of double talk coming out of camp about what they are doing. A lot of us who have the same injury spoke about this mons ago, and a lot of us didn't believe he was going to be healthy and felt that we should be planning ahead. We weren't just saying it to say it. We know what the injury is like and I still can't imagine playing week in and week out with it. Heck it's affected my life every day. I can't even enjoy the lake like I once did. The chop in the boat and the bouncing can get pretty painful. I'm very concerned he's the most important part on this team and we have no hope behind him.

They have pretty much all their eggs in the Tony basket.

We're about to find out in a month or whatever how he is when the big boy games start.

Stay out of that boat..

Yes we are

It's apart of my life I'm 34 and grew up around racing and the river, so boating is a way of life for me. We have an apparel company dedicated to the "Lake Daze". I just can't go every weekend like I use to, and when the chop is bad I have to throttle back and change how I handle the chop, but water is so hard to predict on how and where it's going to break it makes it difficult.

Hopefully your back will heal up enough to get you back out there. It must be awful to enjoy something so much & not be able to do anymore. These back injuries sound so painful.

Well, looks like Romo is still throwing while his body is going backwards. This is so frustrating to watch for a player at this stage.

Ball is just a hair too late, and high for Williams. Something else to ponder, if it was a game and that ball is caught by Williams it completely leaves him open to the S to get a clean hit. (In the video you can see Wilcox pull up as the ball is dropped)

I cant wait till the season starts so we can really gauge just how 100 percent Tony is. These practice updates on Romo are giving me acid reflux. so many different opinions on this "plan" Romo is in and what it REALLY MEANS. Its madness.

It's been 3 years now since I had my accident and surgery. I fear this is what I'm going to deal with the rest of my life. It go to a point where I didn't even want the pain meds anymore. I stopped taking them and started smoking pot and that was the best decision I made on that front. I've learned so much about the benefits of THC/CVD when it comes to dealing with the pain and I don't feel like I'm attached to pain meds anymore.

Taurus eyewitness characterizations of Romo's conditioning during practice (excerpts of his first 16 posts)

  • He's stiff, not fluid at all.
  • Looks like a 65 year old
  • He's stove up.
  • He clearly almost needs a walker out there, looks like Bill Shatner.
  • Moves like Dan Pastorini now.
  • It's scary and pitiable to watch all at the same time.
The thread's 49th post: "Taurus, please post video for the forum to review. If you need instructions uploading video from your cellphone, just ask. Several members can guide you in doing so."

Taurus' 17th post of the thread:
I don't record the NFL network practices. I just watch them. Clearly more people should.

The thread's 75th post: "Here's a link to NFL Network/NFL.com video

http://www.nfl.com/videos/dallas-cowboys/0ap1000000372308/Bryant-and-Romo-put-on-a-show
Taurus..?"

Taurus' direct reply: "Strange not to see Romo at all, in any of the clips they provided."

***

That was his or her final reply of the thread. Taurus sees a decrepit Tony Romo in full practices. His observations are from NFL Network video of the full practices. An NFL Network training camp video is introduced to him. It is not a video representative of a full practice. However, it does not show a decrepit Tony Romo. The onsite commentators do not comment about a decrepit Romo.

Taurus must be right though. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone reading this would post video or link to an NFL Network video of a full practice. Then everyone will see exactly what Taurus is seeing. Thanks in advance.

I don't think Romo's back is as great as the team is trying to make it out for us to believe. With that being said, I don't think it is as bad as some of the posters here believe.

Ultimately the facts are the facts. He is 34 years old and has had two back surgeries in less than a year. We won't really know until opening day.
