What did you think of Morris and Jackson tonight?

I really like how Morris looks in our system.

Elliot needs to get on the field. If he is a lot better than Morris then our offense could be something else.

I am leaning towards letting Dmac go because his touches will evaporate completely here .If we decide to keep him then we have to ditch the Full Back but i am OK with that too.

I would just do McFadden a favor and cut him now. He had a great attitude last year but we have Jackson and zeke . We don't need 2 veterans plus Dunbar.

I liked what I see from both.
Morris did what I expected, maybe a little better than expected. Looked very good.

Jackson looked as I thought, some good things, some regular rookie stuff. But nothing bad except on the one KO indecision. But that's ok, that gets worked out.
But he didn't do anything not separate himself to show why he should replace McFadden or even Dunbar either.

Will see how he improves next week.
I wanted to see his speed, but that will come in time also.

As a 3rd back, yes because of the potential. Isnt likely to carry much.

However Jackson play was checkered tonight

A 6th round pick making the team on potential over a proven player, former 1st round pick, that can still play....
No way.
How was he playing checkered?

Jackson ran hard but I didn't see him really make anyone miss. He was getting what was there.
He is a straight line back to me. I dont think he is going to make alot of people miss. He is a poor mans Karlos Williams to me right now

I think it's still way too early to be writing in or off running backs. Even beyond the ability and performance aspects are the health, reliability, dependability and consistency aspects. I like the fact that we have depth there and none of them have shoplifted any underwear :D Let's see how they perform over the next two games before we start picking the keepers.

You basically awnsered that in your above post lol. There was some flashes and good play, but rookie stuff as well.

Personally I try to trade McFadden. I dont want to lose a 6th round pick that has a good amount of potential. McFadden is capable of playing all three downs and is a plus runner, blocker and receiver. Thats a tradable commodity. And not something we ABSOLUTELY MUST hold on to. Come the dog days of camp there will he teams in need of a Darren McFadden

I think Jackson is useless if we keep Morris. Morris is simply far more talented than Jackson and both are physical. I'm hoping Dunbar can get some time in in TC, I've been done with McFadden since his injury.
How is he useless if we keep Morris?

There is no use for 2 short yardage guys. I value a scatback far more than I do a short yardage guy we can probably sneak onto the practice squad or just call up Rod Smith if someone snags him.

Give me the guy that got us 200 receiving yards in 3 games last year, that's production.

I'm kind of wanting to cut Dunbar. Yes I know he's dynamic but he just can't stay healthy. I think Jackson will make the team. MCFadden or Dunbar will be odd man out.

The way he kept running it out, it seemed as if he was coached to do so in a preseason game. There is nothing to evaluate just spotting the ball at the 25. They probably wanted to see the kick return team in action.

You guys are sold on Jackson over McFadden?

I'm not sold yet.
I think he did the best he could have done. He was constantly getting hit in the backfield. I would have liked to see a couple check downs to him so we can see receiving skills and him in space.
