The Cowboys do realize that any team can grab Milton from the PS during the season, right?

Teams can now protect up to 4 PS players every week.

Dallas can do that with Milton all year if they like.

Not exactly. Dallas has the option to put him on the 53 before that is final I believe.

I just looked at every team's QB depth chart and practice squads. Seems everyone is set with the exception of the Dolphins and Jets. Those might be the teams to watch for Milton.

I don't think it works that way anymore. Unless they are one of the protected four, players are free to sign with any team. Their team can offer to sign them, but they can choose. I believe there was a player we lost that way a couple of years ago.

I thought they changed the rule where you can protect a couple PS members. Mike Fisher mentioned that in a show a couple days ago

Well I think we’re practicing our in season after loss meltdowns. So we’re all in mid season form

I have not seen any confirmation yet that Milton has cleared waivers. If Milton clears, he will become a free agent and can choose to sign with the Dallas practice squad or explore other options.

Yes, and he can now sign as a free agent or sign to a practice squad.
