just heard on espn radio that age, last year production and salary was the reason he was released

There's alot of players that needed to be let go based on production in the 09' season.

yet people want to replace him with Holt :lmao2:

You can't replace what he did. All you can do is try to get a guy who can pick up some of the slack.

Is there really a better option?

Give it time. The T.O. release may start a trend in the NFL.

A washed up Torry Holt being the best option should tell you all you need to know about the intelligence of creating this hole at WR :bang2:

Which do you prefer, a drama team that seems to collapse come December, or a team with at least a little more chemistry then they had WITH Owens, and making it deep into the playoffs?

dude, this team was pulling those December collapses way before TO got here which would seem to suggest he might possibly not be the reason for them

We're a borderline playoff team with Owens.

A player with that kind of talent makes us a borderline playoff team.... You are high. He is a top contributor talent wise and before anything is said about his personality, he is only 1/6 of the Cowboys problems and certainly wasn't the biggest of them.

Did we make the playffs with him? I miss some thing?

Oh? Care to elaborate on the other 5/6?

Any other people you know of that didn't shutup about getting the ball?

Apparently, since we made the playoffs in 06 and 07. One and done, but we still got there. The fact we haven't won a playoff game in 13-14 years (who's counting?) is not an indictment of TO... but it is an indictment of you know who.

Here's to hoping that won't be much longer.

Let's see....

Brian Stewart
Wade Phillips
Jason Garrett
Tank Johnson
Pacman Jones

I could go on, and while I know quite a few of these people and issues have and are being addressed, I am most certain T.O. wasn't the biggest problem. Wouldn't you want the ball if you were a playmaker? We win games when he gets the ball. That's not just my perspective, but Coaches and so on.

You weren't complaining when we were 13-3 and had a bye in the first round of the playoffs in 2007. Do you want to blame that loss on him as well?

I am somewhat intrigued. This move is stupid IMHO, while I stand TO I am not not an apologist for him. This move reminds me of the late 90's all over Jerruh might as well fold the whole team and start over it is pathetic to have 9.6mil against our cap when he still can contribute on a very high level if not pro bowl. So this move does a few things, it signals that they are probably a lot closer on a CBA hence why he is reluctant to make a big splash and is willing to committ 20 mil of dead money to this years cap. It also makes me think he is trying to justify the RW11 trade more, so if he is the #1 he can then say see I didn't over pay, and the jury is out on RW11.

But they made it that Superbowl without him on the field and lost when he came back. This therefore proves that T.O. brings a team down.
