Ahh...just traded to the Jets!I'm hoping for Minkah and one of the top two safeties.
Gotta feeling I'll be disappointed

Preferably someone with speed and rangeWe still need a GOOD safety!!!
Not if CP has some one else in mind in free agency. Fitzgerald is not worth 3 years $40 million extension.Fitzpatrick for a 7th was the better move for that purpose.
As a veteran place holder. Hooker made few mistakes but was hurt and made no plays.I think Parker likes him.
You don't trade for a 15.6m placeholder.Fitzpatrick for a 7th was the better move for that purpose.
Not at all. With what they are trying to do I can see them going Thieneman 1st round. So will this move close the door on Thieneman as the Cowboy 12th pick?
Average on a good day. They needed to clean out the entire Safety depth chart. Not a realistic task in one off-season with so many other needs, so I get why they are keeping him.Hooker was just average. Wilson was more of the liability at safety.
That is the only reason to keep him.Hooker is a place holder in case they miss on a safety in the draft.

I would prefer he be shown the door.

In Parker We Trust.Hooker was just average. Wilson was more of the liability at safety.

Wilson is almost definitely gone. And its looks like Hooker took a pay cut with this restructure. Good moves if ya ask me.In Parker We Trust.
All we can do is sit back, wait and see what happens.
I have no issues with them keeping Hooker at least for now as depth if they find a starter to replace him.
Wilson is a FA. so he may not be back anyway.
The notion a brand new DC has significant influence over personnel decisions is nonsense. If it ever happened with a NFL team it certainly wouldn’t be the Dallas Cowboys. The guy hasn’t been a DC for one game, with any team, and now he’s directing the Cowboys front office on what to do? There is no way I believe that. There is a limit to fans’ “wishful thinking”, even during the offseason.I think Parker likes him.
We like our guysYep. Steele, now Hooker.
Future commitments made to not so deserving players imo.
Cowboys!
It’s a fact the Cowboys rely heavily on input when it comes to their defensive coordinators. It’s basic football 101.The notion a brand new DC has significant influence over personnel decisions is nonsense. If it ever happened with a NFL team it certainly wouldn’t be the Dallas Cowboys. Appreciate you sir, but OUR best of anything on that side of the ball??He was arguably our best graded DB the back half of 2026. 60-69 is average
So, not great, but not dead weight

After last season it’s even less likely they’re allowing much input from the defensive coordinator. “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”It’s a fact the Cowboys rely heavily on input when it comes to their defensive coordinators. It’s basic football 101.
