Cowboys restructure Hooker's contract

So will this move close the door on Thieneman as the Cowboy 12th pick?
I'm thinking that really could be in play, CP could see his next blankenship in him!! Get rodrigeuez in the 1st too trade down a bit to get him

After last season it’s even less likely they’re allowing much input from the defensive coordinator. “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”
You don’t think Eberflus had any say on the draft or free agency despite being a “linebacker guru”?

Appreciate you sir, but OUR best of anything on that side of the ball??

My dream scenario is sign Thompson and Cease falls, then safety goes from a weakness to a strength. I realize I’m one of the few around here that thinks both Wilson and Hooker are cooked and it needs to be fixed. Somehow I’m getting the impression CP feels the same.
I agree that the best of a bad bunch isn’t great but maybe he destined to he a backup should be ok

I’m hoping that means we have plans for another starter

Hooker is serviceable so he was one of the few players on defense that could reasonably be kept. Too many other holes to fill so this makes sense.

Right now the Cowboys' safeties under contract are Hooker, Markquese Bell, Alijah Clark, and Julius Wood.

I assume Hooker is still here as veteran insurance in case they miss out on their free agent targets.

We need talent not restructures . Steele and hooker could have left and it wouldn’t have bothered me 1 bit

Oh well hope they get some talent with the cap space

You're leaving out the rest. The most important part of that deal. Why?
The jets gave him that extension after he was traded to them. Would the trade not have happened otherwise?

Looks like Dallas is targeting Jalen Thompson

Maybe Jerry told the coaches he wants to keep a "Hooker" on the team!! I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. I'll go to time out now.
Its the Shabazz effect. I've mentored many individuals over the years specializing in unwed mother's where the need is dire.

Hooker has been a solid signing for the Cowboys since he arrived, regressed last year with the rest of the defense but hard to truly evaluate him with every other issue present last year. Can't replace everything in one year and think he's an average starter.

I’d rather cut him. But if CP wants him I guess that’s good enough. For now.
I don’t think they wanted to create more holes to fill. We already need one safety. He’s will likely be replaced next year

I'm not going to pretend I'm his agent or pretend to know all the details, but I would bet that he agreed to the money and the extension being offered by the Jets before officially being traded. It's makes more sense that way.
