Well we gotta have room to sign our own guys.
Most likely. Remember that the goal is to be relevant, not actually contend and win a SB. Last year they let a bunch of mid level players go and it took its toll.Selectively aggressive means they've created all this cap and will be aggressive in spending it. The selective part means they'll give it all to re-up their own players. We'll wind up with the same team, just higher paid compared to last year
1st Potential Out Year - 2028, with 52mil of dead cap
Spent diddley at DT and RB with glaring holes in the roster.Ok if your Mike MaCarthy you have to be pissed that Jerry did all of this to have 60m to spend in FA but told him NAH dude we are good you play with what we have last year. WOW
He's got that right.Dak Prescott on Twitter(X):
I want to win. It’s gonna take more than just myself.
Yeah, why pull the trigger to free up so much cap just to have it sit there?This is not all for Micah. Something is coming
Turpin 5MSo what are the details - how is his money going to be divied up now?
March 2027.. there is hope.Horrible move! Leave the bum's overpaid, over hyped, less than mediocre contract alone. This is only going to add years or add DEAD MONEY when the bum is long gone!
LOL. I have to laugh becasue I am seeing posts on X of people complaining that Dak is not getting any praise for the restructure. This is just stupid fans. A restructure is simply a conversion of salary to bonus which gets pro-rated over 5 years for CAP purposes. The player is not giving up any money. He is just getting his money up front instead of per game salary checks.Thats really nice of Dak to free up all that money. They just did a whole #%$ article on what a great guy Burrow is for doing the same thing. So selfless.

There is no reason for a player to deny a restructure. In fact, there is a benefit to a player to take the money in a signing bonus. Once he gets his money it is his. There are ways a team can claw-back bonus money but in most cases they can't. So if a player gets cut or suspended mid-season, he keeps his bonus even though he may forfeit his per game salary checks.
