I am good with that. It will keep them both from feeling too comfortable.

Can't be hurting anyone's feelings now.

I think its pretty weak too. If they truly are even, just pick one. If the other guy starts showing more, make the switch.

The problem with that I suppose is once someone is named the starter, it's a little tougher to make the switch--it's more like you're admitting an error. It's a little bit easier for everyone involved to save face if you start it out this way.

I suppose that's the thinking and the potential advantage. If I were choosing, I'd give it to Scandrick.

This is a tempest in a teapot.

BTW, it took more guts to not name a starter IMO. Good decision Wade.

All I can say is, if Jenkins plays through the bone spurs and finishes as the starter and has a great season, nobody better have the audacity to bring his toughness into question.

I'm hoping Jenkins gives the opposition a 187 beat down. :laugh2:

LOL

So Jenkins gets to face the Buccaneers and Byron Leftwich, but Scandrick faces Eli and the Giants.

I'm kidding. Just thinking X's and O's on this.

Makes all the sense in the world considering Jenkins last showing vs the Giants. Except Ward is now with the Bucs. Jenks better redeem himself when he gets his chance.

I can see the platoon system working if the Cowboys start Scandrick against strong run oriented teams (Giants, Steelers, Bucs, ****, etc.) and Jenkins vs the dominant passing teams w/Scandrick over the slot (ie Eags, Colts, Cards, Sainst, etc.).

what a joke. our sissy coach can't even name a starter

My thoughts exactly. Is wade that afraid of hurting someone's feelings, good grief. Training camp and 3 preseason games isn't enough time to make an proper evaluation on these 2 players. Terrible.

The Cowboys are afraid of harming Jenkins psyche since confidence is extremely important for a CB. It is assumed that the kid is emotionally weak.

If they thought he was "emotionally weak" they'd have never drafted him in the first place. CB's are gonna get beat, and good one's forget about it faster than bad one's.

I see nothing wrong with this. They have decided both are about equal and need to see more before naming a guy a permanent starter, and there's nothing wrong with that.

How's it terrible? What difference does it make?

And Jenkins missed what, a week to ten days with an injury? So he didnt exactly have the same amount of time to "win" the job.

I say first one to get an interception gets the starting job for the rest of the season.

It's about performance people!

:laugh2:

Or first one to get a pass interference penalty loses the job.

:laugh1:

Whenever there's a personnel decision that's unusual on its face, you almost have to think back to Quincy Carter and wonder if there are things that cannot be made public.

Ok, I know Jenkins and Scandrick aren't going to be cut, but someone please photoshop their faces on that infamous picture and put them side by side as if they are both walking out together.
