I think most of knew that an injury to our QB could end the season. We just didn’t expect it in the opener.

Not likely we can contend without a starting QB in a division which looks improved .

At least we can now focus on our youth movement without any pressure of winning now.

Of course it is over like it would be for every other team 99% of the time that a back up has to play significant part of the season.

That’s certainly how things feel today. The team looked totally unprepared with their high-priced starting quarterback. They have no receivers that scare anyone, and the offensive line is a patchwork mess.

Even what was supposed to be an even better defense disappointed.

Rather than mortgaging the future on any quick fix to save face fur ownership mistakes (like the Cooper trade), take your lumps and look to the future. That goes for coaches, players, and (hopefully) organizational decision making in the future.

I won’t throw in the towel just yet. The Cowboys need to run the football more. If they stick to it and play the t.o.p., the Cowboys have a shot to still be in the mix.

Youth movement, funny guy. Did you see that youth play. Don’t be so down Jerry says Smith and Dak will be back in time for the playoffs, JK. Other than #11 who are the youth you are so impressed by.

All joking aside did he even look like a starting QB last night?
As usual he struggles against the better defenses. But we knew going there were major concerns with a makeshift OL and reduced receiving corps .

perfect excuse for Dak and the Joneses

So getting hurt is an excuse for Dak and ownership?? This is the dumbest statement anyone could type. Ive never heard someone say getting injured and needing surgery is an excuse.

I wouldn't say it's over yet. Rest of the NFCE teams didn't look that great yesterday. It's going to depend on how they do while Dak is out.

No one is scared of this WR core or oline; no one is going to respect the passing game, especially with a predictable Ocoord. Are we going to power run behind rookies Smith and Waletzko or Steele, Biadasz? None of the WRs are doing enough to beat man coverage so pressure scheming should relatively easy against this offense.

It’s not a matter of being impressed as it is their ongoing development . But we had some other young players in secondary who have promise .

Unfortunately it’s going to be difficult to develop our youth on offense without our QB. But Smith wasn’t as horrid as many thought he’d be.

Actually the OL wasn’t as bad as advertised.

I thought our lack of receiving corp was a bigger concern. We actually had some success running the ball. But when you get 2 or 3 scores down have to basically abort.

McGovern out early hurt. Left side is very vulnerable now.

The QB play was really bad for the whole game don’t remember Dak having this poor a game. All those who said Coop was garbage and CD was a #1 don’t think that now. The 88 club should kick one off the club until he deserves it.
