Of those 3, only Ratliff was drafted in the 7th.
Most teams have one 7th round pick and 20 UDFAs. They numbers say that more UDFAs should make it than 7th round picks.
Are there any contractual reasons that going UDFA is better than using a late pick on someone you want in the sense of being able to retain their rights, practice squad, and whatnot?
Well he did more last year than Scandrick. He also produced more than Scandrick's rookie year. So its debatable.
I like his quickness but he is another that needs to get into the weight room and train. For his lowcut frame his bubble is not impressive. I don't like leanness in the legs of my DT.
No. There are some advantages to the player to be UDFA over 7th round pick. The contract is shorter and they get to pick the team. Are there any contractual reasons that going UDFA is better than using a late pick on someone you want in the sense of being able to retain their rights, practice squad, and whatnot?
Scandrick was hurt last year. If you want to say he's better because Scandrick has been less reliable due to injuries than fair enough. But let's not pretend like Brown didn't have some solid success last year against number 2s and 3s.
I didn't say to any year I said his last 8 years. My point is I have a bigger sample six to go off of then I do Brown. I like Brown too. I have to see more before I say he's ready to guard #1s.Scandrick was hurt last year. But you did say you would take Scandrick's production any year. I just pointed out that Brown was better last year and was in fact our best DB. Thus I said its debatable.
