I hope they can light a fire. The guy has size and speed they can use.
Butlers competition is Noah Brown and i really like what i see in Brown. He doesnt have the Dropsies like Butler and can play both inside and outside like Dez.

Cole and this dude will be 1st and goal studs.

Amazing release, but funny how they didn't show the rest of the clip. Didn't end up catching the pass at the end of his route due to his lack of size.

I've seen some people saying he can line up outside, but he didn't catch a single pass as an outside receiver in the 1 on 1 drills they showed.

More suited for the slot where he won't be restricted by the sidelines and will get open all day.

I think this is a nice pick. Good target for Dak who worked really well with Cole Beasley. He will get a lot of snaps in this offense I think. We are going to see even more short game because Dak is very good at it. Can't knock it, it works well for New England and it fits Dak.

No 5'8 WR is lining up outside in this offense. This staff will always prefer the taller player(6'2) outside even if his WR skills are somewhat lacking.

I really thought Dwayne Harris was an underrated loss a few years back, if this kid can just become a consistent returner with the ability to swing field position every once in a while (which is the equivalent of a turnover when you think about it) then he's worth the selection imo.

Any WR/Offensive production would be gravy for me. I like that they recognized how much Dak feels comfortable targeting his slot receivers, and using a pick like this as insurance for Beasley.

Oh OK I scrolled back through the thread. I get what you are saying. Yeah, Switzer is gonna be great for us. He can LEARN from Beasley how to be Beasley 2.0.+

I don't get the hate the pick is getting. Imagine having Beasley and Switzer out there in some packages. Defenses won't be able to cover both. Dez and Terrance and Cole & Ryan. And we could still pass to the TE or the RB. That's gonna make DC's dizzy.

A big reason that spread offenses have had success is double slots -- that's the primary difference or wrinkle that D's can't match, since LB's can't mirror those guys and there's usually not 2 slot-type corners.
If the CB's have to roll to them, then the safeties have the wide-outs.

Just creates more potential mismatches.

I think it is the system not just the player. We had once Amedoela and we could not do anything with him.
Amendola was stolen off their practice squad during the playoffs-Eagles (Cowboys were eliminated). They wanted to keep him.

McGinn ranked him 5th for kick/punt returners in this year's draft. After Adoree, McCaffrey, Peppers, Eddie Jackson.

Here's his breakdown:

5. RYAN SWITZER, WR, North Carolina (5-8 ½, 180, 4.49): Four-year starting returner and prolific slot receiver who set school records for receptions (244) and yards (2,907). “Dynamic player,” said one scout. “I don’t like small guys but he is a special player. Outstanding quickness, tough, catches the ball. Kind of plays with a chip on his shoulder because he’s a little guy. That’s kind of what makes him a good player.” Averaged 10.9 in 99 punts (seven TDs); only two KO returns. One coach said he had “Napoleon’s disease, the little man complex.” Said another coach: “He had really good stats earlier, wasn’t great this year. l wouldn’t want the kid because he’s so cocky. Just obnoxious. Hard to be around. Even his own teammates didn’t like him. Who needs all those headaches with a guy like that? It’s not like (he’s) Randy Moss.” From Charleston, W.Va.

I'm pretty sure we had a different OC at the time; in fact, I'm pretty sure it was Garrett. Since Beasley, I feel like the Cowboys will love putting Switzer and Beasley on both sides inside and watch them create underneath, while Dez and TWill force the safeties to respect the deep pass. With linebackers attempting to cover, it will be borderline comical watching these two go to work.

This is a very Dak-friendly pick.

Dak likes those routes right in front of him, which is why he wore out Witten and Beasley over the middle last year. This is another guy like that.

The Patriots have had various combinations of Welker/Edleman/Amendola/Hogan, and Dallas a twosome just like that.
