Are we pretending we get to decide what everyone likes based on what we like?
Is that what we are doing now?

Have you ever been to a game? At a real stadium? The cheerleaders provide entertainment for the fans at the game during the breaks when there is no game being played. Did you think they were only around so Jerry could get drunk and gross them out with his Johnnie Walker advances?

Slap leather if the girly Texas Rangers arrive.
    Turn them back to Austin.

Yes, they could choose to stop being a cheerleader, just as any other person could stop pursuing a specific job. Seen a lot of people point out this blatantly obvious aspect, but nobody has expanded on why they shouldn't be able to ask for a pay raise if they feel they deserve it.

Can someone explain why the only choice the cheerleaders have is, "take it, or leave it"? Why isn't negotiating for better pay one of their choices?

Being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader is HUGE in the Metroplex and Texas!!!
Do you think the gals do it solely for the monies?
Blimey, being a cowboys cheerleader is like having a degree from Harvard the way Texans look at cheerleaders.
But, seriously, just as I would work for free as a game attendant or ball boy, the cheerleaders probably do it for the prestige and glamour.
There are worthier causes out there, mates.

Just call a spade a spade.

Reality is dancing/modeling are borderline glorified hobbies. Being a Cowboy cheerleader is just a seasonal gig used to pad your resume because a bachlor in arts doesn't really help you get modeling, dancing, or theater gigs.

Reminds me of a local MMA guy who was a pan-ams champion in BJJ, amateur golden globes boxer, and undefeated MMA fighter. He was whining about money and how he bust his *** everyday. Reality is "cool your great at a non-desirable skill, and are basically a professional hobbyist" ?

Ummm you can’t seriously be this oblivious. the cowboys pay JasonGarrett a hundred times more than the cheerleaders. Then again they don’t put in near the hours of clap-cheering that Garett does. They need to step their game up.

Are you saying the Cowboys cheerleaders aren't all wholesome, take home to show Momma girls & that some might have questionable ethics?

Well I know I can now sleep better knowing this issue has been resolved!!!!!!!!

Most of the girls do it for glory and prestige, travel and other perks.

That being said, jerry has plenty of money to pay better, they are not under the salary cap.
Just shows how cheap JJ really is, probably the same for people who work at the stadium.
I imagine 1 beer might sell for more than people make per hour?

I don't know who, other than mascots are being considered as counterparts, but they are certainly athletes. If you've ever watched the DCC: Making the Team, you saw how hard they work.

I don't understand why anyone doesn't agree that these girls should be paid more. True, they know what they're getting into, and they have the option to not do it, but why not try to improve the situation for themselves instead? Is everyone supposed to just accept the fact that their dream job doesn't pay well?

Does a raise mean they will learn to dance to something other than "Thunderstruck" before kickoff?
