Or a defensive lineman. If the season started today it's DeMarcus Lawrence, Trysten Hill, Tyrone Crawford, and maybe Dorance Armstrong as the starting four. Maybe Randy Gregory comes back, but still looking shaky there.

They don't typically draft DTs, and with Hill not being considered a starter when they drafted him, I'd be surprised.

I could see Gregory coming back, though I'm not sure after being out so long he'd be that good, but no way to tell...

He was out for a while before coming back in 2018 and had six sacks despite playing less than half the defensive snaps. Guy is a great talent and that's why the Cowboys have stuck by him for so long. Maybe with the new CBA their patience will finally be rewarded. We can only hope.

Hell, I thought they signed a FA and it's their own. I don't pay much attention to the backups since I don't watch preseason games.

Darian Thompson started 4 games and played almost half the snaps on defense in 2019.
